I am about to start my first serious grow and I am preparing to turn my 50x60x130cm wardrobe into a growbox.

I am going to buy a 400watts HPS kit but before I do I would like to know if it is too much for my wardrobe.

Thanks beforehand!

waaaaaaaaaaaay too much for a wardrobe that size. Use CFL's in there and even then you'll need alot of ventilation

hey man wats up? ive just abandened a 600watt HPS wardrobe grow:cry: the heat was unbelievable as i had no way of pulling the hot air out. even with the door open and a big fan running it was too hot an the plant stopped growing. I think for a wardrobe or closet CFL are the way to go, am looking at a 125w or 300w at the min:hump:

Thanks guys! You just saved me from a bad investment.

How about a 200 watts CFL then, will it be okay? Also what kind of ventilation would you suggest? I tried looking into it but couldn't find anything that answers me.

i have a 200w cfl and mogul base ill sell you real cheap they sell for 80$ at htgsupply.com
they do get hot.
cfls arent worth the time and money they produce small buds and unless you use 40 of them your harvest wont be worth the time, effert, money and risk of getting caught.

wow im sure lots of people are going to post pics of cfl buds and say im wrong but for me 10 grams a plant isnt worth going to jail for.

but now i have a room in my garage with 600W hortilux bulb( bulb makes hugh difference) cooltube reflector. can filter and lrg centrifugal fan.
harvest about 20 oz off about 10 plant. grown quickly.

I have a 400w hps in a 1ft x 2ft x 6ft approx. Uve got a bigger footprint than me but less height. I duno as long as you invest in a good air exchange system i.e inlines, rvks, air circulation fans, you could get a 400w in there. Or why not go for a 250W? That would kinda work out to the same watts/volume as me, roughly, and ive got my system to run at pretty much perfect conditions

Edit: just realised how old this thread is!
