i was wondering if this is a good light even tho it is so cheap compared to other 400watt hps lights? and if anyone knows how loud it is that would be great help because im going for complete stealth mode here. lol

If its a digi ballast it'll be fine, don't get a magnetic if you're going for stealth. And it'll do for your first grows, some people don't like htg but I've never had any problems with them plus a 5 year warranty I'm all for it lol

I used a 400wHTG hps light and ballast. I had no problems but the hood was too hot and had to ditch it and get a aircooled hood, other than that worked great gotta love the warranty too.

600w hps here w/digi ballast, only noise i had to worry about was the inline extractor fan (6")...couldnt hear it outside the house, but if it was pretty quiet (and tents in the basement, mind you) you could hear it runnin anywhere upstairs

HTG seems to be a pretty good place to work with. We just got one in our state and they make things very easy and cheap (inexpensive). I love the 5 yr warranties too! They seem to compete well...even with fee-bay.

I currently use one of their 400W HPs setups. I upgraded to an air cooled hood when I ordered it though and only had one problem with it since purchasing it in March or April. It happened right away and I emailed them about it. They replied with a solution and mailed me the parts whe I told them I'd be able to fix it myself. Swapped out the ignitor and its been great ever since. The problem I had was it wasn't lighting when the timer kicked on. You'd hear the ballast assembly buzzing as it was trying to light the bulb but it wouldn't turn on.

Great customer service, very knowledgeable and quick. I'd reccommend them to anyone...

I've been using a 400W HPS from HTG supply for a few weeks now, must say im very satisfied, i just kept a few fans blowing around to prevent any heat from the reflector affecting anything. It's just a slight buzz from the ballast.

HTG products are great. Most of my equipment is from them. Their Low priced HPS systems function fine... you just need a lot of airflow on reflector and or bulb. An aircooled setup would drop temps quite a bit if temps might be a problem. I live where it is hot...I don't need any extra heat lol

I've bought 12 600W digitals with 8" Cool tubes from them over the last two years. No problems with them other than the shitty bulbs they used to have as standard. They recently started using better bulbs though, last year or so. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Yep, it's as legit as you can get. The best setup for the money that you could ever hope for. It's good quality gear. Mine came with the 400W HPS bulb, but you can go to Home Depot and get a 400W MH bulb for around 20 bucks. Good for vegetation. Ya ain't got fuck with shit, just screw in the MH bulb or the HPS bulb and you're good to go. There is absolutely no noise my friend. It's a digital ballast, well built and you should get great service out of it. The reflector and bulb holder is just common fairly well made shit. Comes with heavy duty, long power cords and a nice jiffy height adjusting system and even a timer. Can't beat it for the $, believe me!

I use the 400 magnetic ballast and it works fine for over 2 years now. After this grow i may upgrade to a digital 600 and cooltube or just get another 400 still thinking.:confused::hump:

The ballast makes zero noise and the light/reflector has never been a problem for me as far as heat issues. I grow in a very small closet. Just be sure to put the ballast outside the grow area as it does generate considerable heat. Magnetic ballasts are a thing of the past. With this setup you don't need no stupid "conversion" bulb or any of that other horseshit. If you want a lot of light, then buy two of the motherfuckers, that'll give you 800W of MH or HPS at your whim for far less than you could buy any other system. Good luck!
