400w or 600w?

Should i go with a 600w or 400w in a 3x3 tent? Just a veg room, no flowering will go on here ever. And about spectrum, should i go with a mh or should i just use HPS in my veg room as well, MH is "better" because of spectrum, but hps puts off more lumens, would hps be better then? Let me know what i should do! Can get either bulb or both with the light I'm getting but would prefer 1 because the guy will drop price if i just get 1 bulb!

400 lets off less heat so if temps are gonna be a problem I'd go with that. 600w would give some nicer penetration and bigger buds but a 400w is good enough for that size. Get an air cooled hood for it. Just buy the hps set up complete and then MH conversion bulb for veg and pop the hps in for flower.

Running the HPS throughout your entire cycle (veg/flower) is fine, your results won't be much different. I recommend you go with a dimmable 600w, 600s are the most efficient in terms of lumens per watt. You will get more grams per watt with that than you would with a 400/1000w. Also bulb quality makes a big difference, not something to skimp on IMO.

I'm running 715w in veg with a 4x4 open tent. I don't see any reason to close it as I'd have to run an exhaust/ac during lights on.

i'd go with a 315w LEC (light emitting ceramic). better than MH or HPS for veg and probably gives HPS a run for flowering. would be perfect in a 3x3

Im going to be using the 600w for veg and then have a 1000w going in a separate room for flowering, and i will move a few plants every week to the flower room so I will crop once a week eventually! I will be running smaller plants with a short veg cycle but cram as many as i can in the space i have!

Go for it just make sure they have enough space for air, cramming can work against you. They need oxygen, leaves stacked on top of each other does not a healthy plant make..
