i got a whole range of globes from my mate. i have a 2x3 grow area with 8 pot plants
what would be the best globe to use a 400 or a 600. Will the grow speeds be any different between the 2 globes or would i be better saving power and going the 400W

600watt is more efficient lumen for watt. Also its considered to be the best light for most situations.

I say bigger is better.
Saying that, your only concern should be if you can cool the light decently.
The bigger light will make a difference, no doubt.

Go with the 600 if cost is no issue, but I suspect your smallish space will get too hot. Have you thought about how you're going to vent heat? Do you have an air-cooled hood? I think you're going to need one. If you're buying online, check out HTGsupply.

you totaly dnt need a 600 in that space it would be a waste of light power and money i suggest going with a 400w..... ppl dnt relize it but you can have too much light

too much light can cause bleaching of the leaves whispy buds and is just a general waste

think about it a 600w light is ment for 4x4-5x5 rooms and yours is 2x3.. a 400 will cover 3x3-4x4

The 400w might prove to be too hot for that small of an area unless you got good ventilation. Generally speaking, the 600 is a much better bang for the buck but every situation is different.

im not here to argue but a 600 is hotter than a 400 and a 600 is a waste of light and energy in that space....... thats truth, you may get more bang for the buck but its worthless if you cant use it and the extra bang will be wasted in that room. a 400 is all thats needed. your right every situation is different but a 2x3 room is still just a 2x3 room and only needs a 400w
