simon looks good from here +rep simon..
Thank you. That particular plant was grown from seed to show max yield per square foot. I didn't use it for the tutorial, because, well, I felt it was a genetic fluke. This plant was used, instead:

FWIW, here's a pruning tutorial, using my Chronic clone, where growth under HPS' is illustrated:

In all honesty, I feel odd even discussing this, as the MH/HPS "issue" is 20 years ago. It's only the hobbyists who argue about it, and it's always the guy who knows the least that's the loudest of all.

For me, all the buds look good, because i never grow weed.I want to start right from the beginning, and then i'll gain some experience and tell you guys what type of light is better. Thanks for helping!

These are all 400w all the way! Good luck bro!

looks pretty short and stocky to me... The few vegging there are 6 weeks old on a 16/8 light cycle

Depending on how big your plants are gonna be a 400w may not give you a big enough footprint. If you are growing anything under 4" tall you'll be just fine.

For my first time, i'll grow just 2 or 3 plants.

But i don't want to use any air equipment, some fans are not good enough?

I posted a link at the top of the page to a tutorial that shows how to cultivate high-yielding plants with no waste. The process is particularly effective with smaller lights like a 400.

What do you mean by air equipment? Air-cooled hoods?

Yes..want to place them in a corner of a room, not in a closet or box if possible.
Place some normal fans in the room. << http://remodelista.com/img/sub/freudtablefan.jpg >>

They will grow?

Fo sho! I squeezed six under it but that's maxed out with a 4 week veg. I imagine I can do better with a screen. Right now I just have the two vegging in those pics. I just put em in 10 gallon smart pots lol :bigjoint:

oh yea, thanks for all the nice comments!

If you live in a cool area year round you may be okay with just fans. I live in Az so I use an inline fan along with a 12 inch fan in my room. The inline fan allows me to place my light close to my plants without burning them.

Sure, they'll grow. If you decide that you want to grow more efficiently with better results, it'll be time to upgrade.

I'll suggest two thing to you:

1. If you want to learn, learn from the best.
2. Make things as simple as possible.

Just as a point of interest, here's a growbox I built when I started out indoors:

I actually had a two of these running side by side, each with a 600HPS, a Vortex600, and a Can66. Each box consistently pulled ~12-14oz dry/cured from less than 6ft2 of floorspace. You could easily put something like this in a room and reap the benefits of a dedicated garden. Something to consider for the future.

I must direct the fan's air into bulbs?
3 or 4 fans will be enough for 3 plants?

I'd try at least 4 fans and point one right at the bulb and up and out of the room but I've never tried that. You will need good air circulation (fresh air coming in and the hot air going out) if your just using fans.

Hope that helps
