400w hps height from seedlings in week 1

Hey all

Just after some more thoughts about the height to hang a 400w HPS over baby seedlings. (week old)

I have decent cooling and at plant level its give or take 20 C / 70 F and 50% humidity.

Currently light is hanging 70cm / 27inches above seedlings.

I'd say at least 1' and a half away for seedlings if you don't have a dimmable ballast, start to lower it if you see stretch & just play it by what you see them doing (watch the heat)

i do see some stretch already.. they only popped through soil 3 days ago and already 1 to 2 inches tall...

I agree with Xrangex, 18" to 1'.

Also, keep a light fan on them to keep the temps down and strengthen the stems.
