400w Closet SOG (24 plants)

What can I say, I amaze myself.. Even with my busy schedule I managed to make alot of progresss.

I transplanted all seven vegging plants into bigger pots. Personally I hated the grow bags.. the root structure sucked and stunted their growth.. a nice big plastic pot should do these girls well.

I also modified the pots for my mother strains and filled the pots with some nice organic potting soil..

And even more I put some finishing touches on my bubble-cloner by replacing the weak pump with a better one and a bubble wand providing a more even distribution on O2. I cut squares in the lid of the plastic bin as place holders for 10 small rockwool cubes.. ( I know rockwool isnt the best, blah blah blah.) im trying it out.

I all I have left to do is block the light coming frm the veg area and add anther timer so I can switch the flower chamber over to 12/12, because right now its still running on 18/6.

I will add pictures tomorrow or soon.

I know the middle plant looks fucked.. hopefully everything will recover after settling in.

So I also set up my bubble cloner.. added a few white skunk clones to test it out.. I dipped the cuttings in rooting gel, but I dont have much faith.. only because the cubes keep slipping through the holes and completely saturating the rockwool.

Yeah, and I know you already have heard the stuff about rw and water... You may also want to consider that if you have enough bubbles popping in there that that is going to kind of create spray/way high RH.......you'd have to almost have the stem all the way through th rw and hanging down to the water level itself...... because I dont see any way possible to use rw in your application without it staying so wet that the stem rots before it grows roots.....if you must root them in rw water them by hand dipping the corner of the cubes and keeping in a vented dome. IMO, rw is hard to root in--it has been for me....was too temp/rh sensitive, and moisture in the rw.......and then there's the guys that swear by it and only root that way...... In your situation right now I recommend trying the cuttings in collars(use the bottom of a styrofoam cup if you have to) so you can have the water level almost full and the stems submerged...and you dont need nutes or hormones or anything but 75+ degree water and lots of bubbles----clean cuts and all else of course.....

Looking great though---and moving along!!

Have a great week!!

i know.. im pissed at myself for buying the cubes instead of neoprene collars.
haha, dont be pissed at yourself! Now you know. And really, if you cant get the neoprene asap for some reason or other, I was seerious about the styro-foam cup bottoms.......anything to hold them in place snug yet loose......and use right in the bubbler you got...

After checking on my four mother strain seeds that I started germing in damp papertowels and in small tupperwear containers yesterday.. It looks like all are cracking! 100%!

Im so pumped.. this will be a great learning curve but I hope I can sort out this light emerging from the veg area before I begin flowering.

I planted all four of my germed fem seeds today, hopefully in 2-3 days i'll see a sprout.

As a small trick for germing I put the containers the seeds were in on top of my clothes dryer and turned it on tumble for a little while.. the heat and the vibration from the dryer aid in cracking the sprout from the seed.

next update will be pictures!

i leave mine in paper towels until they drop the shell. I plant the sprout with leaves already. only like 3 days total usually from seed to plant

and the best thing I have seen for neoprene replacement is either sandals from a dollar store cut up or pipe insulation cut and put inside itself to have a tight rolled up layer to hold the branch. no water leaks or light leaks with either

settle down there new fella.. its not like that..

Its a SOG (sea of green) perpetual harvest. The object of this style is to produce many large single cola clones on a constant basis.

First I have to veg my new seeds for a several weeks, long enough to start taking 2 cuttings per plant every two weeks..

I chose 8wk strains and can fit 24 plants, and then some.. in the flowering chamber. There are four groups of six plants, each group is identified by age.. 2wk, 4wk, 6wk, and 8wk.. and there is room for any plants that take longer than expected. So in reality its 6 plants harvesting every 2 weeks. Im hoping to get atleast a half oz from each single cola clone.. but I really have no idea.

While my mothers are vegging now I have plants flowering from my old grow setup and I hope they turn out SWELL!

....well, if it's just a bubbler why would it need to be water tight? And if you happen to shop at the dollar store you might as well grab a pool noodle and dice that up into discs---lot easier than cutting up sandals. The cups were an emergency use type thing/idea to hold over until real neoprene could be had. And remember KillHit, you dont need them too tight around the stems: that will create more problems. Unless your spraying with pressure in your cloner(then it wouldn't be a 'bubbler cloner') all you want to do with the puck that holds the cutting is set it over the hole....you dont need to pinch it into the hole itself as with aero. Seeings how you cut squares, etc., I figured the easiest/safest for you would be as I 've explained. Just make sure you keep a good half to one inch of each stem in the water, and use no gels/hormones as these will create funk in your system------if you have to use something, try the PowerCloner "solution" or similar....
Can you get up some better pics of your cloner?

Great Luck and have a good weekend!!:weed:

has to be tight to be light proof. faster root development with no light down there, and no gunk growing that shouldnt be there.why would you quote that and say something so wrong? roots hate light.. no waterproofing needed but its nice to have. i use hempy on carpet and let it flood everywhere though. i love water

:dunce:...........wrong?????? I was just trying to point out that it's MORE important to not choke your fresh cuts and have the bottom rot off: the light........no brainer when your just cutting a slit('bout like using a clear res?).....
so wrong...............? like hows funk going to be down there.......well try your medium temps at 75 F+ and you'll grow 'funk' with no light, speaking of which, it must smell like a swamp in your grow, s.a.; loving water everywhere as you do......have you tried frogs for insect control/management; I hear they make some wonderful guano-tea and can really be incorperated into a self-sufficeint eco-system quite suitable to Hempy's methods......except his idea was more to keep it in the bucket, I think:peace:

link to my journal is in my sig. growinman dont show up without a explanation of your op and some pics, wanna make sure your not a pig with all that bad growin skill you talk about. clear res..... haha!

There seems to be a misunderstanding.. PAY ATTENTION, I dont feel like repeating this again.

I know 24 mature flowering plants will not fit in the space provided.

I have a total of 24 flowering plants in my perpetual cycle.

Four groups of six plants. Each group is a different age, with a 2 week gap.

4x6=24

2wk, 4wk, 6wk, and 8wk.

6 plants harvesting every 2 weeks.. after the first 16 weeks of course hahah. A SOG is a process..

I have 4 mother strains; Blueberry, Blue Cheese, Whiteberry, and Church... Which just started sprouting!! im so excited haha

I am going to veg these plants for 4-6 weeks before I start clipping any clones and then it will be another 10 weeks before I harvest any clones from these mothers.
