4000 Watt Grow Room Setup

In the process of creating a 4000 watt grow room. The room is made out of 1" PVC, and is 10' by 10' by 6.75' tall with a central support, and a vertical supports in the center of each 10' pvc. It will be lined with 5.5mil Panda Film. The problem I've found myself facing is how to hang the lights. It seems the PVC is not adequate to hang the lights from, so naturally my first inclination is to hang them from the ceiling. However I do want this to be a closed grow room, and as close to air tight as possible. This poses a problem with the lights hanging from the ceiling if I were to want to cover the top of the room. I could cut out just enough of the panda film to allow the lights chains to get through, but I worry then about adjusting them. Thinking about perhaps extending the panda film from the top of the grow structure directly into the ceiling.Have any of you faced similar problems and what solutions did you come up with?

Just make the cuts you need in the ceiling to put up support for the lights then tape up the panda film to make it air tight? No?

Hey thanks for stopping by guys! So my plan was to hang the lights from 2x4's nailed into the joists above. The top ceiling of the pvc structure is only about six inches from the actual ceiling, Gquebed, I was thinking I might be able to just extend the panda film from the base to the actual ceiling of the room, and just not lining the top of the grow room, do you think this could work? I'll post some pictures in the morning, but currently there is just the pvc structure that I described.

If you use bigger pvc you can hang the lights from it.

Use 2" pvc. Just use a short piece of small pvc around the hanging chain right where it passes through the panda film. gorilla tape it well and then fill the pvc piece with caulk.

Nice^^^ why don't you get rid of that celling light and make yours higher bustin cales? You don't have much room for plants do tou

Use screws rather than nails and if you hit a spot where it doesn't line up with the joists, use big toggle bolts through the sheetrock, they are very strong.

Yeah theres enough height, the ceilings are about 10 feet so the light isnt really that low.With the hoods at the top of the chain I can comfortably have plants at 6 feet tall

Hey thanks for the responses all! Sorry it's taking me a couple days to get back, busy week! BustinScales, that's looking like a nice setup! Unfortunately I went with the one inch pvc against my better judgement and have already built the structure, so 2 inch isn't going to be an option. Beezcheeze, I'm liking this idea, but it is important to me I maintain the ability to adjust the light height with the chain, would this not seal it into place for the most part.

I'll have to try toggle bolts! Nails could for sure be a bit weak for what I'm looking to do.

You have to drill a decent sized hole to insert them, but easily fixed afterward with a little spackle. They spread the weight out and can handle a lot. I've used them in many applications.

They make these threaded plugs now that can hold up to 60 lbs a pice. Basically just a little threaded plastic piece that you screw into the drywall and then screw whatever your hanging into these anchors. They work great for everything I have had to hang. Look in the screw section of lowes near the other anchors. And yea man if you hang the lights like sayin you'll still be able to raise and lower the lights. If you do decide to run the panda film all the way to the celling then you'll have even more room tho. Good luck looks like a fun setup
