400 watter needs help!

How many plants should i be able to put under my light and what size pots. what method is best and most efficient for grams per watt.

Hmm Really depend how complexe of a setup u want
If u go pots u cld prop squeeze in 6-9 plants under 1 light
or you could build an aero or deep water culture tub they have fairly nice yeild imo

Indoors I huddle alot together and keep em small, lets me start them flowering faster too. So it really depends on what size you want, I keep mine just over 2 feet and not as much branching, so depending on strain and if it grows taller, I have to start flowering some pretty small, not long after clones root, others I have more leeway.

im going soil so should i use 1 gal pots? and when would you flower?

btw i know when to flower is preference but my height restriction is 6 feet so when should i flower.. the straind are bb blue cheese , douple dipped sour banana and super strawberry diesel.. +rep 4 help

Is that 6 feet total or can the plant grow 6 foot tall with light clearance ?

buddy you need at least 3 gallon pots to be safe thats just my opinion

ya at least 3 gallon, probably even 5 gal. I forget where i saw this but sum1 once told me that as a general rule you need 1 gallon of soil to support 1 foot of plant, If you are working with 6 foot of room id say just roll with a 5 gallon.
as far as how many plants, Im runnin a 400w closet grow right now, and i could tell you that if all of my 6 plants would have ended up female there would def not be enough lumens to support all of those plants, space was at a premium after veg time with 5 sativa doms and 1 indica dom in a 4'x4' area. I think the remaining 3 benefited greatly from the males being chopped and having the space to flourish.
I would say run with six or so plants if you are unsure of the sex, if you know that you have females i would say just run 4 under that light. unless you are runnin a SOG or SCROG then this changes the #'s u can fit, I just let my plants bush out so thats why i only have space for so few.
