400 Watt Perpetual Harvest DIY Rubbermaid.

Hey everyone, i reccently bought a 400 watt hps and fans and cooltube and lumitek variable ballast, and i really like the idea of a harvest every 2 weeks so here is the plan.

4- 53L rubbermaid ruffneck tote.
GH 4 port air pump
8-6 " airstones
8- 3" net pots per rubbermaid

So in a 2ft x 5 1/2 foot grow box, i will flower 8 clones every 2 weeks, which will vegg for 2 weeks after they are taken as clones i think, unless i do not have space for veg time and it has to be clone straight into flower.

i will mother 1 feminized seed in a rubbermaid DWC also, i will have one set up for cloning, and the vegging one, a drying box will also be built into the cabinet, along with a shelf for box's of Mason jars.

My plan for nutrients is Advanced Nutreints Grow Bloom Micro, Nirvana, Big Bud Liquid, Overdrive, and Final Phase. A little superthrive for the cloner.

I am going to purchase the Hannh Combo Ph/Tds/Temp pen when i can, but i need to know if with a cheap ph kit and the A N nutrient scedual, if my ppm absolutly needs to be checked and adjusted at first?

The Strain im not sure of yet, i have some mighty might seeds that i was going to test run with but i have read the strain doesnt like to be cloned?

Anyway Thats my plan, the cabinet needs to be built, along with all the DWC stuff, florescent lights for vegging, mother, clone, my plan for that is 2- 2 bulb 2 ft T8 for mother, 1- 2 bulb 2 ft T8 for vegging, and a 1 bulb 2 foot T5 for the clones.

How does it sound?
say i harvested 7 g per plant, thats 2 ounces every 2 weeks. which is perfect for myself and buddies, but well see how it goes.

Once the supplies are bought i plan to make a journel and show the building of everything, just wanted to put my idea out there see if any experts had any advice or suggestions?

As i said there is a couple hundred of supplies that still need to be bought, i just germinated the 5 mighty might seeds i have, going to pick up a floresent fixture in a bit, The cabinet will be built in the next week or so, then black and white poly'd and the light and carbon filter hung fan mounted, etc. i will take pictures of that, and if these seeds start i will document that also.

I would use t5s for the mother and the vegging, not just the clones. Insulate your ressys so light doesnt get in, and to help with res temps. Also, get yourself a carbon filter. and youll need a dependable timer for that 400 watter. not some cheap lil timer you get for 12 bucks either.. but an industrial stregnth timer youd get from home depot, like a water heater timer.. you can use the cheap timer, but youd need to get a contactor relay for it, if not, sooner than later the timer will fuck up on you, and either your light will stay on, or stay off, or worse, catch fire.

I plan to use a grassline timer from a hydroponics store, and i have a GP carbon filter.
and i would like to use T5's but i cant find affordable ones anywhere? especialy in canada?

How much are the t5s up there? make sure that timer can handle the startup amps and that it can handle inductive and resistive loads.
the hydro store down here has plenty of timers that WILL NOT handle the lights, yet they sell them for thier lights.... makes no sense to me. point being just because you got it from the hydro shop doesnt mean its the right kind. Ive never heard of grassline tho

T5s down here are pretty affordable to me,.,

and I believe they are even cheaper on ebay, or specialty lighting stores.

also I dunno know if you have it , but get yourself a max/min thermometer with humidity and some fans specifically to move air around inside the tent.

PPM meter is important but not as important as a PH meter.. I grew for a couple of years without a PPM meter, just followed a feeding schedule, HOWEVER PH isnt something you can follow a schedule on, that being said, ,I didnt have a PH pen I used the simple chemical ph test kit for a long time also. I know how both ppm and ph testers tho.

yes i have a small air king fan for inside circulating, i just went out and bought the clone tote, and a mother tote, buying the hole saw kit and net pots soon. yes i can get the T5 1 bulb 2 ft for $30 at hydro stores but if i need 4 of those for a mother thats like 120 which is alot compared to 2 2bulb T8s which would be 50 with bulbs.

Also i was thinking about buying a 125watt CFL for the mother, ill get a 26watt for the clones and buy a little reflector, and i might purchase a 2 bulb 2 foot T5 off of ebay for the vegging plants, i will update with pictures asoon as my seeds crack.

I have the seeds in a damp paper towel in a ziplock bag in a folded peice of paper with a tempature probe in there and there underneith my netbook computer which stays on 24/7 and is a 86 F and 80% humidity enviroment right now, im thinking seeds will enjoy this?

check them in 12 hours I bet anywhere from 12 - 24 you will have a tap root popping out and they will be ready to go into your medium!

The temps are up so 93 right now... what is too hot for germinating seeds beacuse that what i was concernd about?

Temps back down to 88, im guessing depending what im doing on the computer it will rise or drop a little bit, but im sure it will be fine.

Love the idea, first heard of it on youtube. If you get bore search for it under "I harvest every two weeks" very entertaining and informative in some parts.
