Hello All-

After moving and breaking out the tents again, I finally have everything going. My 400 watt HPS needs a new bulb and I ended up buying a LED instead.( This one http://smile.amazon.com/KingTM-Spectrum-360-860nm-10bands-Flower/dp/B00WHF830K/ref=pd_sbs_86_3?ie=UTF8&dpID=416-UnM5MXL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=0G3D4606607ZYNJM00K9 )

The tent that is going from 400 watts of HPS to the LED is 3ft by 3ft and 7.5 ft tall. My plants are typically about 4ft tall and I have no problem with head space. However I had a hell of a problem with heat all summer. Even with a room ac, and heat from tents vented outside I was lucky to keep temps under 90 during the day. Yields were not great (soil, organic). The new LED fixture is much smaller. The HPS reflector with cooltube barely fits in the tent while Im wondering if the LED, while rated as more wattage (actual watts pulled will be about the same) will be too small at 13 inches by 13 inches. So my question is will this be a suitable replacement for my 400 watt HPS? Better? Worse? Overkill? Not Enough? I have been growing for 20 years or so and the technology has changed so much that Im not sure how to compare. Sorry for the lengthy post, this King Louis I been smoking makes me drone on...thanks for any advice.
