400 Watt grow

So need to know how many plants I can get under a 400 watt HPS/MH grow. First time using HID lights

I'd say no more than 6 max but 4 would be better. Less plants is always better IMO but it really depends upon if you plan to top/train them out or not. Ed Rosenthal suggests a good rule of thumb is 100w of hid per plant. Some SOG growers might disagree....

I'll go ahead and agree with 4. When you first get started the light footprint will look like it can support more. When they get to be about a month to 6 weeks old you find that footprint doesn't seem so large anymore. If the plants are bushy, even less footprint.

I tried 6 with my 400w HID. That experience made me switch to COB lighting for my 2nd grow.

Four plants will do.. don't forget to turn them a 1/4 turn a day to keep growth even..

You got them in 4 inch pots ...then 100's

just one kiddie pool? just the one then?

in 15L/3usg pots is good for a total of 6

This seems a lot better than the CFLs I used last year. Gunna try Bubba Kush and White widow for the strains
