i am looking to buy a 400 watt apollo hps system http://www.amazon.com/Apollo-Horticulture-GLK400CT24E-Digital-Dimmable/dp/B00547I5I8/ref=pd_sbs_lg_2

i was wondering if i dont have a inline fan and ducting atm, can i still run this system without them? or will it only work efficiently with air being pulled through the tube?
And also this system is what was shown to me. i really like the reviews and the warrenty.. plus dimmable and also both hps/mh! it just seems like a great deal.. but please before i spend my money; is there any other system that can compete with this deal?? thank you ahead of time!! :)

I purchased that exact setup...love it!! BUT I'm running a 6 inch exhaust fan in a stealth cabinet. Would BAKE without the exhaust...what are your potential setup plans?

I ended up never using my cool tubes I had temps with 600 watters and 1000 watters just never got that high in my tents. In my 4x8 tents I run 3 600 watt lights open hoods and temps rarely hit 82 F

Whats your intake temp? Are you running ac to intake?

i think what i will do is save up a little more money for a exhaust for the cool tube. i want the light as close as possible so i have the most dense buddd.;)
tell me. is this all ill need is ducting and a inline fan? i already have an ac that gets the temps in the room down to 63 without lights.. can i run it without a tube at that temperature? and what inline fan can you show me that is low price but is efficient? thank you guys abunch

setup. im not sure how to lightproof a corner of my room.. but atm i have a cfl 42 watt on a seedling .. just for experimental before i get good lighting.. but its just open in the corner of my room.. mad e a diy pvc cover so the light doesnt bother me when i sleep. but that corner of the room gets cold without the light on.. .. i put my ac on full blast and tested how cold it can get (of course took out the plant) it reached 63. can that work without a cool tube? im prob want to get a cool tube though because here in az, in the summer it gets so hott and ittl prob affect heat problems

I picked up a hydrofarm active air 6 inch exhaust fan for about 70 or 80 bucks on amazon. Has a 5 year warranty...works in my cabinet just fine...are you in a tent? Cab? If it's in an open room you can probably pull it off at those temps but don't put any ducting on that tube without air going through it...it gets hot FAST!!

Since no one else has said it... I would like to say to watch out for cheap Apollo and I power systems because they emit rf interference which can get you busted. It's worth the extra cost to ensure a quality ballast so you don't need to worry about this when it's too late. Do a google search and you will see.

I would use a hydro farm ballast and like someone else has said, I use a active air inline and it works good. Even got a ventech too and it works good. I grow vertical so I normally use two fans, one for smell and one to bring winter air in. In the summer I use ac and one inline
