Morning Guys, I recently became a MI mary jane card holder, and purchassed a 400 watt HPS Set up from HTG Supply, light is installed and
(Sorry this may be a dumb question), from what I remember from 20 yrs ago, the bulb will rattle a little till she warms up, then she simmers down, but this one is still rattling 12 hrs later, is this normal?

I never heard rattling do you mean a humming sound from the ballast or a noise off the light itself?
Not a ballast buzz, a rattle in the bulb, it was ratling when I took the bulb out of the box, light appears to be working correctly, but the rattling is CrAzY?

WTF its was rattling as soon as you opened the box, that sounds wrong. Try a new bulb
Correct like a little wire or something rattling, I see nothing moving, and it seems to be working fine. I contacted the supplier via-email am waiting for a responce now, I may call them shortly.

Hi NBKA :)

Might not be a problem with the bulb .... they do rattle slightly and tap the glass when you move them around ( thats normal ) maybe your fan is blowing on your reflector ? .... Try rotating the bulb slightly when its lights off and the bulb is cool ... Just half a turn in the socket will prolly do it ... and remember not to actualy touch it with your fingers ... us a cotton or silk cloth .

Hope that works :)

Good Luck

ps .... You might allreay have figured this out for yourself by now .... BUT .... its ALLWAYS better to have more than one bulb at hand just in case you have problems with one ... You can just do a quick switch without interupting your light cycle :) ( I try and buy 2 of everything if cash allows ... can come in handy if shit breaks lolz )
