400 or 1000

im at a crossroad i have both a 1000w and a 400w when i use my 1000 my room gets to hot but when i use my 400 not enough light im sooooo

sell em both and get a 600 and a vented hood and 6 inch value line can fan (400 cfm)!

i would say this...

Cool down the 1000 with a vented hood,(i.e.cooltube) using sufficient volume fan.

I have only grown with 1000w lamps and i am entirely satisfied with the density of the buds i get. I just recently flowered some buds in a cfl mother cabinet and the density of the buds was very mediocre. So i know that you would not be satified with the density of nugs after stepping down off the intensity of the 1000w lamp.

I know i wouldt be.

It depends on how many gals ur growin(sq. ft.) and room configuration imo. That's a big difference from 400 to 1000 watter.

I Agree With Olosto sell them and get A 600 With A Vented Hood They Have The Best Lumen Per Watt Output

They both make good points. I run a 400watter, and when i first got it i thought 50000+ lumens was the shit! Then i find out a 600 put out around 95000 lumens. But whats the point in havin all that power if u can't keep it cool ya know? It gets to a point where u gotta have the damn light so far away to keep the heat from the plants, that ur losing that effectiveness the further away u go.
