Hey guys, i am going to make a UCDWC system, but i thought i would get some feedback from other people. I am in Canada thus i will have to pay some S&H on some US Items. Grabbed two extra bulkheads for spare parts and/or larger control bucket.
5 / 4.25 Gallon Square Buckets @ 9.43$ each = 47.15$
5 / Bucket Lids @ 1.77$ each = 8.85$
12 / 2" Double Threaded Bulkheads @ 5.99$ each = 71.88$
2 / 2" Utility Ball valve @ 17.03$ each = 34.06$
1 / 1/2" Utility Ball valve @ 4.68$ each = 4.68$
1 / Danner Magdrive 250gph Inline pump @ 64.99$ each = 64.99$
1 / GH High output Air pump @ 67.40$ each = 67.40$
4 / Air Stones @ 6$ a piece = 24$
4 / 6" Netpots @ 3$ a piece = 12$
PVC Pipe, Elbows, Reducers and Glue = about 80$
Total Before tax = $415.02
After 14.5% tax = $475.20
With S&H of about 50$ = $525.20
About half of the Current Culture UC4 System cost of 1,016$
Going to have a threaded pipe on the discharge side of the pump and threaded tee on the intake side of the pump. this way i can take the tee off and thread a garden hose onto the pipe on the discharge end and get the pump to drain the entire system, while the tee on the intake will turn the pump into a suction hose so i can fill the entire system by draining a 30 gallon garbage can i use for mixing nutes/PH. The valve just in front of the intake is so i can modulate the speed of the pump as well as close it off to fill the system. valves on the sides of the res is for balancing. If the floor its sitting on is canted to one side, the lower side will see more water flow than the top side. also, i might get lazy and just want to mix nutes in it.
