it's been awhile since i've done a journal or grown anything so i thought it would be high times to do both. the 4 seeds are pineapple express, confidential cheese, burmese kush, and white widow, all fem seeds from attitude. they're in 3 gallon pots of miracle gro potting soil mix, cut with perlite, about a 80/20 mix. the seeds have been sprouted after a 3 or 4 day germination period. they are getting natural light during the day and 4 26 watt cfl's at night. i have better lighting for them once i get them into a permanent home. all comments are welcomed and i'll be posting a few pics tonight. thanks for looking everyone, hope you all join me on this grow.:peace:

i'm planning on letting them do there own thing, 1 giant bud in the middle. the kush plant is looking weak but it sprouted the day before yesterday and the shell didn't fall off until late this afternoon so i'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

i found a shower pan today that will look and work good in the new closet that i'm going to start on tomorrow. once the closet gets built i have a 1000hps/mh or a 400hps/mh for the artificial sunlight. not sure which one i want to use yet. i have a 6 bulb 4 foot t-8 setup for vegging after i have a rotation going. i'll get some pics taken while i do the build. as always, this is an open journal and all comments and questions are welcomed. thanks, kevin:peace:

this is a bucket of left over miracle gro soil from previous grows. it's mixed with a bunch of chicken poop, a bit of alfalfa hay and and a couple of cups of lime to stabilize the ph. it's been cooking for 4 months so it should be ready for the next bunch of plants.
PB170004.jpg

just a couple of sprouted bag seed that sprouted in a flower pot.

lets get to work. this use to be used as a hen house so it needed one heck of a cleaning. the shop vac is the handiest thing to have in your grow area, i consider it one of the most important pieces of equipment behind lights and fans.
PB180009.jpg
after the room got vacumed out it got a spraying of malithion to get rid of any mites or bugs the chickens might have left behind.
PB180010.jpg
i laid a new sheet of plywood down and cut a hole for a 4" flange for drainage.
PB180012.jpg
and the shower pan is installed.

the wall frame and door will get done tomorrow along with insulation and the walls. the size of the room will be 4' x 7.5'. can't wait to finish so i can get some lights and all the goodies going.

got up early to finish the room but the wind is strong and the temps are cool so i think i'll enjoy a bowl and climb back in bed. all 4 of the little girls are looking good, the soil was starting to dry so i watered for the first time. i planted the seeds on 11/11, so that's 8 days. they have been getting misted with a spray bottle since the day they popped. my girls don't get any special treatment, the water they get is whatever comes out of the tap. the only times i've ever had ph problems is when i was trying to over feed my plants or expirimenting with my own soil mixes.

well i never made it back to bed, after sucking down a few cups of coffee and smoking a couple of bowls i dragged my ass to work and got most of the closet finished. all that is left is insulating and hanging the interior wall, install the a/c and heat and the all important lights, fans, and ducting. i'm going to use the 6 bulb 4' t8 setup that i got from the home depot.

PB200016.jpgPB200018.jpgi decided to go with the 400mh for vegging. i didn't get to the duct wPB200015.jpgork yet but the temps aren't an issue right now.
PB200014.jpg
here's a pic of each, not sure what's up with the pics but they are all green and healthy.

hanging that 400 above those babies was the best thing i could of ever done, they damn near doubled the size in 1 day. the lamp is roughly 5" from the top of the plants and the temp has been holding in the 70's.

Looking good Kevin, sounds like you've got everything under control! Can't wait to get mine under the 400! How's the new grow room look?!

i'm loving the new grow room loyal. i've had the idea of having the shower pan for the last couple of years but i was being lazy and what i had worked, this setup is so sweet not having to worry about moving the girls or over flowing water, it just goes out the drain to water some outside plants. i scored a bunch of lattice that i will attach to the shed and grow some climbing jasmine vines, maybe it will help with smell.

my camera took a dump today and i have to mail it somewhere for warranty, it's going to take a couple of weeks to get it repaired or a new one back. i'd rather not have pics at the begining of the grow journal instead of the end. all 4 plants are looking good and getting their second set of leaves. they needed to be watered today, they got straight tap water. i'm pretty much a no frills grower, nothing fancy. i'm going to show you can grow some killer plants without all the bullshit people say you have to have.

this grow is hitting on all 8 cylinders and these plants are growing at an awesome rate and the prettiest green with no signs of stress or anything else. temps have been in the mid 70's with the humidity hanging around the 30's and 40's at the top of the plants with the light hanging about 4 or 5 inches above them. once the stem firms up i'm thinking of turning the 1000mh on them. i'm thinking of conserving energy and the 400 usually gets me a good enough harvest since i just grow for myself but the thick hard buds make it worth the few extra bucks on the light bill running the 1000, i'll cross that bridge when i get there.
