3x3x3 hole or bigass grow bag?

i want a pretty decent yield next year, wondering what wold be best to go with. Im either going to dig a few 3x3x3 holes, or get a 100gallon-200 gallon grow bag. i see people doing both, just wondering if theres any real difference (besides the hassle of digging holes of course)

also, random question that probably wont get answered, can i use the same light i used to grow my seedling after it germinated to grow clones? i might have fucked up last time, but it looked like i fried it lol

Digging big holes is a pain in the ass, I would do 200-300 gallon tan smart pots. I recommend half digging holes and half smart pots and see what you do best.

A 100g Smart pot is around 30 bucks.

A 200g Smart Pot is around 50 bucks tan ones are like 3-5 dollars more.

I would also suggest doing both and see what works best for you.

I'd definitely try both. This year I dug some holes and used a 10gal Smartpot, also a few other clay and plastic pots, and I learned quite abit from both mediums. I not going to get into details but you'll see the pros and cons and next season decide which would be best for you. Have fun.

I don't understand why you Need the hole if You are going to use the large bags?

arent they designed to be above ground?

Or are you trying to strengthen the sides by putting it in a hole?

I'm pretty sure they're talking about planting some in the big ass holes and some in the grow bags, a comparison of sorts.

there's a few considerations here, but both methods have their advantages. a hole doesn't cost you anything but your effort, and a plant in the ground in somewhat decent soil will have more growing potential than a plant in a pot - but if the surrounding soil is not good it can work against you, e.g. clay that doesn't drain can hold too much water for too long. a smart pot will drain and prevent this from happening. smart pots are pricey but you can make your own for cheaper. If I were you I would grow my indicas in containers, since it keeps them off the ground and makes them easier to work on since they have a low profile. sativas and sativa doms in the ground because they get so tall they get hard to work on. if you do go with holes, and can tend the plants regularly, I would suggest you widen them and make them shallower, like, 6 feet across by a foot and a half deep. If you can't check them all the time, 3x3x3 is probably a good way to go. and don't forget to line the holes with mesh to keep out gophers!

The soil I have around here is terrible haha so if those guys stretch out longer than the hole provided, that's where they'll be stopping. But thanks, I'll definitely keep all this in mind
