Anywhere leaves overlap and touch, if allowed to sit stagnant, you can find water, which eventually leads to problems like mold. Some air just to keep the fans moving about will help in preventing any of that.

For a 5 gallon? How tall do you want then to be when they he t to the screen. Minis that from the 13" bucket height and you have your answer
Yeah, I am using a 5 gallon bucket. Right now the legs on my scrog screen are about 29" tall, from the ground to the scrog screen. Does it look about right or should I raise it or lower it a bit?

Here is a picture. This is day 1 of the setup so that's why the plant looks small. It was just transplanted in that bucket. 20160618_213348.jpg

That's fine. Just start 12/12 now.
also I made a shorter set of 4 legs for the scrog, this time about 2 feet tall. They are interchangeable with the longer 29" ones too. I figured I could use the short one with short strains and the tall scrog for taller plants.

Yeah I'm running veg 18/6 right now. She was just transplanted today, should I give that scrog net a chance to fill out before 12/12? I'm ok with having a monster plant, I've never used as big a pot as 5 gal before. I know this strain (dinafem critical 2.0) runs shorter. One last question I had is would you guys be topping the plant to keep more even buds at the scrog level?
Thanks again, here is the short scrog. 20160619_002912.jpg

Day 2 update. I cut the top of the plant off right below the scrog net in hope of spreading my canopy for more tops. Made clones from it and I think its going to be better in the long run. Once it grows more to the tops after I have identified all the main colas, I'm planning to strip a lot of the useless dense foliage from the underneath of the plant. 20160619_213315.jpg 20160619_213328.jpg

I see what you guys are saying but I feel like its heavy enough to hold them down. I don't know how most people build scrogs but if I need to I can add something to provide weight to the bottom later. It just depends. This is my first scrog grow so I'm learning as I go.

Ya I get that but it still allows you to bend the branches under it. Mine however has bottom connecting square poles as well as the top does like yours.

That's is exactly what I was getting at. I just know how my girls like to flex their muscles when I try to tie them down :hump:

Well here is my attempt at super cropping my plant. I did the pinch & bend method on the tallest branches. Also I think I've come up with a solution to the plant taking the scrog with it that I will post soon. 1466402734155-480494485.jpg 1466403259887-932922429.jpg

Looks like you did a fine job on them. As long as no outer skin snapped or is broken or wet in any way. I noticed you just tied your screen right to the pipe. I used screws spaced evenly and wrapped around em. Just an idea for your future builds.
You can see it in this pic. 20160524_200501.jpg

Would you guys lower this scrog net if it were you? Or should I give the plant a chance to grow up towards the net? This is after about 2 months of vegging under 8 ge brite sticks. Im worried the plant is too short for the scrog. I just don't want the canopy space to go unused, that's the main thing I'm thinking about. 1466485726463445754264.jpg

It will fill in SO MUCH once you flip to 12/12. No need to lower at all. I'd flip em now if I were you. You don't need to fill in the screen, then flip. You let it get to the screen, like you have, then flip.
