3rd grow

so this is my 3rd time growing..i havent had a succesful grow yet..

i jsut wanted to ask if any1 knew why everytime i start to grow my soil in the cups i start it turns kinda a glossy powdery white?

Powdery Mildew?

the first time it happened i had sprayed some miricle grow spray stuff on them.. bad decision i know..
but i thought that that is what did it to them..
but the second time.. i did nothin out of the ordinary and still got the same thing again..

mayb its because of my water?.. just tap water

what kind of soil is it?

How long does it take to develop this powdery substance?

Does it kill your plants?

the name brand is Sta-Green with moisture max potting mix

it usually will take anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 weeks and it start showing up.. but doesnt always kill them.. sometimes after a good bit of watering it goes away and keeps growing

Try some anti-fungal stuff. If it's not some kind of fungus than it's probably nothing to worry about.

If you can, pony up and get some high quality ferts and soil. Definitely cuts down on the number of problems you'll have.
