3rd grow T5 HO fluorescents closet grow, getting it dialed in

The space between your walls isn't just all interconnected. They are cavities, probably 2"x4" x 8'. I assume they are insulated as well. So you're pumping air into a relatively small, closed in area. You are not really "exhausting" anything.

A bathroom exhaust fan doesn't blow into the wall cavity. If it does blow into the attic, it goes through the ceiling between the joists. Venting a bathroom into an attic is a hack job. Any legit hvac tech would never do that.

A better way would be to actually exhaust the air into a separate space that is larger than your grow room. Like through the whole wall and into another room.

The space between the walls that I am venting into is a large area, the builders could have made it a walk in closet but instead they sealed it up.
well then at least take it a step further and go into that large space and add some ducting to move the air straight into the attic. In the meantime you might want to add some kind of a filter to it so you don't fill it up with dirt, dust, bugs, plant crap and smell up the neighborhood.

You will be amazed how much water a healthy grow will transpire into the air.

I thought you meant you were venting through the drywall into the stud cavity.

and in your original post you said that the FFOF was "too hot" and burned the plants when you added fertilizer. The added fertilizer was what burned your plants. You only need to add fertilizer when your soil isnt providing it. More nutrients than the plant needs wont boost growth. It will probably just lead to problems down the road.

I like your setup, it looks clean. Not sure I would have all the side lighting though. I would probably add more to the top. Seems to me that you want to put the most light where the surface area of the leaves is the greatest.

5 weeks of veg with FFOF and nutes still burned the plants even 1 ml per gallon was burning the plants. There will be a carbon filter added to the vent fan here soon. Ok look my method of venting is the only route I could take, no other rooms to vent into and the hot air does go into the attic space and is vented to the outside threw the attic vents. After all the goal is to get the hot air out not just move it around. Before I did this I got into the attic and checked everything out, I did not just do this on a whim. I own the house so it is not my Mom's, sorry not like some of you I moved out of my parents at 17. If you dont like my methods that is fine, there is more than one way to skin a cat. So lets move onto something else other than my venting which is working just fine. If I start to have humidity issues I will make any needed changes, however living in a very dry desert climate with very little rain and low humidity this just will not be an issue. I live in the Sonoran desert temps get up to 120 degrees and average humidity is an average of 10% with it rarely getting above 50% in the rainy season. Most other places are much cooler and wetter than where I live so I can see why most of you would think humidity would be an issue but if fact it is the opposite, lack of humidity is the norm.

Generally what is your humidity during vegging? I'm curious, mine is very low too and i'm wondering if that's why my plants on my first grow are so small :(

I added my exhaust today and my humidity's been running at 16 percent even with a humidufier in the room.

No idea what my humidity in my grow space runs at, no humidity meter to check it but I know it is low because any water evaps very quickly. I need to get a digital thermometer with humitity. Ok to make everyone happy and to avoid any issues in the future I went back up in the attic yesterday and changed my vent ducting. Now the exhaust vent goes in to the attic directly and out an attic vent. I also ordered more flowering bulbs last night so now I will have a 3-1 red to blue bulb ratio for flowering.

I also got the flowering bulbs I order in yesterday. Going for a 3-1 red to blue for flower this time. Need to set up the 2 CFLs for center lighting and start to tie down the plants.

Just picked up 2 32 watt 3500K T8 flowering bulbs, 2 42 watt 2700K CFL bulbs and a dual plug timer. Going to flip to 12/12 in about a week.
Update, new CLF lights are in. 625 watts of mixed floro's.

LOL thats why the threads title is "getting" it dialed in. After this grow I hope to have my setup and system fine tuned for good yields under floro lighting. If the yeild is still crappy after this then its bye bye floros and hello HPS but I expect a good harvest from these.

Oh no Spider Mites!:cuss: Noticed spots on some leaves on 1 plant and on closer inspection it is Spider Mites. I did a GH AzaMax watering this morning and will spray wth it as well once the lights are off then follow up with a neem oil and Safer spay. I knew I should have done 2 more sprays of Mighty Wash while the plants where still small but oh well I am not worried about it going crazy this time, hit them hard and fast NO MERCY:fire:. Other than that plants are doing very well, getting some stretch in 1 strain and starting to see flowers at the end of week 1 of 12/12. I have slowly over the last week increased bloom nutes and decreased veg nutes and increased the sweets. Going to start the potash soon.:hump::weed:

LOL what? I have learned a lot since my last 2 grows but always learning. I did not chop my plants early maybe my first grow I did a week or 2 early. This grow is going so much better than my others; healthier plants that are growing much faster, tighter nodes, no nute burn (only burns from the CFL lights touching the tips of some of the leafs), more lighting and better/correct bulbs, different style training and topping, re did the grow space and lighting. As for the spider mites they are or where there but the effected plant is not in the pic it is more to the left out of frame and it was a small mite problem. That issue is already done and taken care of, I have seen no more live mites and going to to do 1 more spray. Woody I like how you criticize but give no helpful tips or info and dont even explain why you are criticizing. I feel this grow is going very well my plants have never looked so green and healthy and good bud sites at week 2 of 12/12.

Yeah you should really read that thread a little better. I had issues with the banana kush and agent orange heat and strain I think was the big factors for them but the rest of that crop turned out really well. I just wanted to to be done with that grow. No pics of those because I did not feel very good about the results. A lot of my friends really liked the agent orange and no pics of the rest of the finished grow because it got smoked lol. I dont know if you understand it but this is a completely new grow with different methods and different strains. If you dont have anything good info or tips to share then keep the trolling to yourself.

I'm impressed with your florescent light set-up. Are the CFL's even necessary? It would seem to me that it's an unnecessary source of heat.
