Seeing as I'm picking your brains guys and gals I figure to have TWO weeks to go which is at the far end of the catalog discription so my question is this. Two weeks is quite along time so can I still expect them to still bulk up a bit???? And would the molasses right up to the end help that. I can see flushing ferts, but why do I care if I flush molasses? I think I'm sporting a woody!!!! Parden me catt.
Yeah the molasses would not hurt up until the end just ferts, the molasses will make the bud heavier, and sweeter, they bulk up in the last bit pretty good.

I poked around a bit In regards to an ice flush. Definitely mixed reviews But none of the reviews reflex someone who has tried it. That's certainly important. I'll tell you I was thinking I would water with 33 fish pond water. That would certainly make the plant think winter was coming. Okay so riddle me this. I know mj plants respond nicely to seasonal change. I done seen it with my own eyes.. I have had mj plants outside when it's been so cold that they are the only semi green thing around. Would it not make sense to reduce my overall box temperature as well. I have seen them panic windfall approaches So maybe I can manipulate them by lowering my box temperature over the next 2 weeks as well. ALL ANNUALS PANIC WHEN WINTER APPROACHS AND THEIR JOB IS NOT YET COMPLETE. All in all I think it's a cool concept. Freaking arg,. I'm late for work now Cuz of obsessing with mj. WTF

What in this wonderful WORLD OF CANNABIS does not have mixed reviews, "its just nature to me baby"(in my austin powers voice), ice/cold is a part of their world, and thats what these complex plants are good at protecting themselves at a plant level to the point of turning hermie just to regenerate, so during the cold the cannabis senses its dying and try to put out all the resin it can in hopes of catching pollen for the last time, and the resin also helps to protect the plant, sorta like putting on a coat on, now on to the colors popping now not all plants will not turn purple but if its supposed to, it will turn with colder temps, and there other colors it will bring this out sorta like trees do in the fall, now there is a more scientific reason for this but easier to explain in laymens terms, but here you go if you want it the cold causes the chlorophyll at the time the most abundent chemical making the plant look green to disintegrate, and allow a couple other less abundent chemicals to show more carotene, and anthocyanin and these are the of colors yo see with relect whatever color they end up producing depending on the balance in the plant

P.S. Yes it would be perfect if you could reduce the overall temp of the room better mimicing nature even better, but if your like me and are unable to keep a controlled temp of 50-60f then attack them where you can The Roots Ha, My Days before Dark Plan Day1-Ice cold water. Day2-Let it sit. Day3-Water and Ice(to slowly melt and keep temps low for awhile. Day4-Let it sit. Day5-Ice only on soil. Day6-Dark Period 24-72 hours, and cut from bottom of stalk during dark for harvest day as this helps with drying and making sure all nutes or whatevers left that could affect taste is still in the roots, and not in the stems. Men this is for you "Kill her in her sleep MWUHAHAHAHAH"

Thanks Chief, your so full of great knowledge ;) your end comment there made me quite nervous :o...lol I shall cut my girls with the light ON now!!! Let them at least SEE my face when I cut their throats!! lol

I've noticed on my shorty the tops of her colas are getting purple around the edges of the leaves, and it is VERY cold here when lights are out. I mean the entire lights out cycle of my 3 girls whole lives has been in the 50's. I may want to experiment with something totally out of the norm with the girl I call Nitro....I think she's stopped growing :( Don't know how much longer she can hold out. So if you know of anything off the wall I could try....let me know ;)

Ha actually cutting there throats will asleep is a good thing as it helps with the drying process, and taste because what your plant is doing during sleep is it basically is a habit for them to protect themselves at all time, so they put all the food, and water and energy back into the roots at night thats why the leaves droop during sleeping, but anyways it helps the roots warm itself with the water in the system that has been warmed up by the light warmth, also to note during sleep roots stop stretching, and the top strectches, while awake the roots stretch and the top stops stretching, okay sorry I keep getting long winded but....(side note:stretching is different from growing)

Do you want some good drying tips?
Do you want some making her grow tips?
are what are you looking to accomplish darling?

Thanks for more great info ;) I'm not really sure what I'm trying to accomplish..lol! Lot's of info around here....makes me confused sometimes :? I think my nest bet would be to find a plan and stick to it! I know I will try the ice flush, following suit to Kronnix ;) That sounds like a good plan. I would like to maybe try to manipulate the flavor/smell a little (not sure I want to smoke cherry stuffing..lol), any thought on how to alter flavor/odor? I know my girls are getting a nice fat dose of molasses tonite ;)

I have a plan too. My problem right now however is accurately figuring out when it's two weeks from harvest so I can finish up. Tomorrow will bring a very close inspection and I may even see if Radio Shack has anything better in the way of optics. I think I may well be at that point.
I'm pretty much following kronnix and catt so I hope were all not wrong. LOL/WTF! Good lord willing and the creek don't rise I am going to drop the interior temp of the box. Not sure HOW cold I'm willing to let it get but I think pretty damm chilly for the last two weeks. I'm not using an ICE flush but it's gonna be close. It's gonna be straight pond water at about 35 degrees based on outside temps right now but I will check it. I'm not sure if I want to pour gallons of cold water thru them or just keep them watered with it. If they don't mind too badly the last few day will be lots of cold water and a day or two of dark.. Also gonna run light molasses right to the end.
:D
How come I never worried this so much outdoors. I sniffed and poked and fondled and was pretty much right on. Or at least I THINK I was.

The next bridge to cross will be curing and drying "properly" :D I sure sense some pretty sweet harvest pics and stories from a few folks before we know it. So very cool!

Ha the stuffing that's crazy, but I wouldn't just try any ole smell except something fruity, things like lemon slice or peel, orange slice or peel, pineapple pieces, captn crunch, fruity pebbles, things with a penatrating smell, but before adding the slice(the wet part) let it dry a good bit or get dehydrated pieces, and when you start cure add the dry (your choice here) into the jars as this will help dry the ladybuds, so during your cure make sure you figure a good schedule to burp your jars as this will help prevent mold, but after burping put everything back in the jar together and it will remoisten this time pulling the smell and moisture the (your choice here) helped to draw out during the previous jarred period. (Side note-If your shebuds are DANK please do not go and mess up what's already good enough, this is only.for ladybuds that have lost there smell, or needs some "perfume" to compliment her).

The way to tell when they are ready depends on what you want, you know the whole spill about cloudy and amber but, thing to remember the reason the weed gets better is during curing the trichs still mature, and a few other things go on but that's another story, so know from cutting at whatever point the trichs appear to be that will increase at least 10% maybe more after properly curing.
