36 Hours darkness before inducing flower?

i just want to know what exactly giving the plants 36 hours of darkness before inducing flowering achieves?

It's not going to kill your plants, but why do it? Nature doesn't do this outdoors so why do it indoors? It's not natural.

Why stress your plant? The simple switch if you are growing indoors under lights to 12/12 tells the plant to flower. Granted the plants do not start to flower the next day but extended darkness to induce flower has no advantages that I can logically see other than to stress a healthy plant. Keep it simple, keep your plants happy and not wanting for anything and they will produce the end results you are looking for.

i agree there is no need at all.

i have done both 36dark and straight switch.

its a pointless exercise and you have to watch out for too low temps.

just switch straight to 12 12 keeping your lights on time at the same time.

After reading all the opinions against the 36 hours of darkness. Babies are now 2 days in flower and looking smashing.
