I know, that was my old stomping grounds. There used to be a really good seafood restaurant on the edge of the harbor there, but that was decades ago.
Fisherman's Catch? It's pretty good and then there's this crab shack that's run down but has terrific crab tanks.

I never found one in LA I liked better than Crab Cooker in Newport Beach. Fisherman's Catch in Port Hueneme is very good too.
I'll have to check them out.

Technically I like a place in Monterey Park called Atlantic Seafood and Dim Sum, and it IS one of those Chinese seafood restaurants with the tanks of live seafood in the front. The dim sum is pretty good in the morning, but in the evening they have a dinner special, where you order three regular menu items, and for $10 more, you get an entire Peking duck, or an entire 3-5lb. Lobster stir fried.

The peking duck is the best I've had. They roll it out on a cart, carve the skin off of it table side and serve the crispy skin it with the traditional flat buns and hoisin, then they take the rest of the duck in the back and cut it up and bring it back out on a platter.

The lobster...I cannot comment on. I want to order it...But I mean...and entire Peking duck. The duck gets me every time.

Some day, I shall go with a large group of people, and we will order both...lol

Peking duck, oh my, I'll have to try that. I love the House Special Lobster with garlic noodles at Boston Lobster in San Gabriel. It can help take the sting out of going to the dentist unless I had actual work done then it's Small Island in Northridge LOL.

Speaking of seafood, the woman I'm dating currently introduced me to Hot n Juicy, one of those seafood boil places. I had known about them for years, and never bothered to stop in. But my lady wanted to go to the one in Vegas or her birthday last year, and I was surprised at the quality of the seafood I received. Pretty legit for a casual crab boil sorta atmosphere, and I usually steer away from corporate run locations, but it surprised me.

I miss going to restaurants...lol

I have a place I like for quick fried seafood, but have not attached myself to a full fledged regular seafood restaurant in the LA area yet.
Yeah takeout just isnt the same. No one to clean up after you. Still a lot easier than cooking.

We have a take off on Boiling Crab up here that's meh. There was a really good one in Santa Clarita but they closed, sad because they also had stellar Thai food. I will go to King of Crabs in Reseda on an LA run. Everything I've had there has been consistently good.

I had duck once. Shit was so oily damn near slid off my plate. Might not have been Peking. More like slippery AF duck. Would not recommend.
