That doesn't line up with anything published in the last 40 years. Photoinhibition starts way earlier...some think under 20%...most show ~25%.

If trying to approximate 25% blue photon density (or is the photoinhibition data hinting closer to 20% nowadays?) what wavelength range is referred to as "blue" (is it just the peaks or an effective range?), and given the color temp ratings of lights are an average of their spectrum, how would you calculate blue vs total.

Example:
150w 3000k
080w 6500k
230w total

What would you say the blue density would be? Can you get a general idea by comparing wattages or is the wide spectrum to big of a variable?

This might be silly but are Blurples designed with more than 2 wavelengths? Have they tried building a board with all the peak wavelengths, and in a distribution matching their absorption ratios?


Instead of supplementing blue and red, supplement white?

You might say ”They” have been there and back and there again from 2 to 4 or 5 to 12 or more bands. Pretty much blurple.

I don't supplement, cause it's not needed. 3500k has what is needed. I know this by expiration, not guessing and following someone else. I post my shit all the time, year after year.
