32 Autoflowers. How Many Magnum 357 LEDs? Calling all LED Users!

Can anybody tell me how many 357 LEDs panels I would need to cover 32 Autoflowering plants in a 2m x 2m box. ?

I have followed Dunit's journals and have decided to use these panels due to low electricity use and very low heat output..perfect for stealth growing

I am planning on growing in Four 8-pot amazon aeroponic systems ( http://www.somhydro.co.uk/product.asp?pid=1374 ) with stealth in mind.

I understand i would see much better yields growing non auto plants but time is a little issue. I like the short life of autoflowers and have seen many yield over an oz dry from each plant.
I have found autoflowering strains which promise uptop 600g per sq m. This may be a bit of a over estimate to boost sales.. but i would be happy with half that!

I do not plan on growing autoflowers for ever.. just to get the ball rolling

Any tips/ advise/ warnings from somebody with experience would be more than heplful!

Thanks!

Reconsider using LED's, sorry it has to be said. If low energy is what youre after I recommend using a T5 light unit. If you decide to go with the LED's this is a message from my present self to your future self ..."I told you so".

I hear t5 units let out alot of heat.. something I'm trying to avoid at all costs.
with higher heat output I will have to deal with much more ventilation and at a higher risk.. This may sound silly but I do not wantto be melting the snow on my roof as winter approaches.

How many t5 units would I need to cover my area? I havnt don't much research on them.

Dp you have any links of a good supplier

Also, have you seen the magnum 357 LEDs in action.? Manu growers are reporting yields of over a g/watt which suggests new LEDs are on par with 'old school' light forms. Just a little more expensive. Anybody agree?

Agree I use a T5 for veg and it works great. Some folks use them for flowering by swapping out the bulbs. Check out this thread

I too use a T5 for Veg only and agree some people DO use them for flower.
@silentgrow - They DO NOT kick out much heat, with the aid of a small fan my plants can touch the bulb without burning. T5's come in different size units, you'll need to browse your local supplier to find what you need for your grow area. 'T5' refers to the type of fluorescent bulb.

So what do you guys use for veg stages? Would t5 be sufficient for the whole life of an autoflower? I understand they don't penetrate much light when plants get more bushier but autoflowers tend to stay quite short.

What power t5 do you guys use to cover what area? Please give me some figures so I know a ball park figure of how many I'm looking for.

I want to stay away from hps lights as I cannot afford to run them for 20-24 hours a day and the thought of that amount of heat scares me!

Def recommend LEDs. They yield the same as HPS provided you run the same amount of watts.

I say get 3 magnum 357's or 2 GLH 500's
T5s are a joke compared to LED.

L.E.D's are all about P.A.R value, using specific Nm wavelengths to provide the maximum photosynthetic light as possible. Normal T5 bulbs are full spectrum and waste light in the green, yellow,& orange spectrum. Someone earlier posted a thread led without led t5 grow it's about using specific bulbs in a t5 fixture to give you 100% P.A.R. lighting just like l.e.d's but with out the high cost and limited wattage.
T5's will not heat up a tent like HID lighting will.... more than likely a 15min exhaust every hour should be more than adequate.
my 2 cents.

T5's are a joke compared to LED ????? WOW... This guy prolly doesnt even know what a T5 is and if he does he certainly has never used one. ... Listen, nobody doing commercial grow uses LED's (if so prove it). T5's and similar are commonly used all over Europe, (if only for cloning or veg,)
