300w Viparspectra LED 2x3' tent grow in soil

The TastyLED is much more efficient and puts out 60 more micromols at 24" than the 450 for $60 extra dollars, as it's COB. That said, the ViparSpectra still does what it's supposed to, for still decent efficiency and low price.

The only thing he's expressing is that the Tasty is legitimately more efficient. For 78w at the wall, it puts out, as I said, 60 more micromols at 24" with slightly smaller window than the 450w, which uses about 206w at the wall. So, your choices are, either pay 60 extra dollars for a COB build that will use less energy over time for more upfront money, or pay less up front for something that's still efficient but is a little over twice as less efficient, and slightly less powerful. That's obviously up to the hobby horticulturist in question.

Just picked up one of these 300w's for a upcoming try with led, I know everyone talks about 24" from the canopy...was wondering if you have it at that height or somewhere else. I have a small space and may have to upgrade it, if 18" would be too close.

Hey guys, been busy lately but just wanted to drop in and give you a quick update on the grow. Im at day 19 of flower, plants have filled in nicely and look to be on track. Feeding about once a week with Fox Farm nutrients and basically not much other special attention. I did thin out some of the fan leaves and have been adjusting bud sights so they arnt shaded by the taller branches. This is my first grow but from everything I've seen the light performs well and is seems ideal for my small 20"x36" area. Any thoughts or opinions on my grow are welcome. And olive drab, I checked in on your Journal this afternoon and it looks absolutely amazing. Thanks!

Still looking really good just got this same light, excited to start my own soon. Hoping I can have it stay as good looking as you guys. May have to figure out a better way to rig my light though.:?image.jpeg

Thanks for following city boy. Looks like a nice clean grow spot. But I agree if you think your light is starting off much too low. I think if you keep your girls happy they'll likely grow up to it or past its usable footprint. What strain do you plan on growing?
I seem to see results indicating light inhibition when too low, using either these or BlackStars. I'd keep it at 12-18 inches for best PPFD. Mid to late flowerong plants won't have a bleaching inches if it's within 5-6" though. My Blue Cheese grewfrom 10" to 3.5 feet and stopped within 4-5" with no bleaching, just a bit of dense foxtailing.

Just a fast update. I stopped feeding for about a week due to some burn I found at the end of leaves. Also could have been from shifting some things around and exposing new growth. Back on a schedule now, feeding quarter amounts of fox farm. This is day 22 of flower from good bag seeds germinated july 4th weekend. Im surprised at how fast the cycle seems to be going.... but like I said its ny first grow so idk. Thanks for all the input so far. It's really nice to see a few other people using them

Olive drab, I feel like some of my leaves are burned. Almost like they grew too close to a HPS light or something. But they were closer to the bottom and I did shift some things around
Not likely from the light. I've had my one plant within 4-5 inches of my LED. I'd expect you'd need it within 2-3 inches to really burn it, and it would take time.
