i noticed at lowes they had 300 watt incandesant bulbs i am sure they get real hot question is this i am in flower with a 400 watt hps i bought a backup bulb i live in the middle of nowhere say my rig went out for some reason would 3 or 4 of those work until i can order a new fixture has anybody tried these bulbs?

i'd buy a spare ballast instead.
for the price i was going to order a 600 watt hps mh combo preferably for my next grow i am saving up i am just paranoid if there was an emergency would a bunch of cfls work i am ta;lking about for maybe just a few days or would it ruin my crop

It won't work at all.

If you are in flower now and thinking that incandescent can replace HPS, even for a short time, you are wrong.

No chance

Well, you would be fine for 2 nights. Just maintaining their light schedule with anything is better than nothing. The others are right in that, having a proper backup is ideal, but even a cheap incandescent is better than leaving them in the dark for two days.
