30 Day Screen Shot Since First Pistils: How Do Your Buds Compare?

This is the closest Forum in which to post as my hybrid hydro system is not covered under any of the options

It is a combination of rapid Drip (with feed cycles every ~ 13 minutes) + Recycle to Rez with 24/7 Flooming + Magnets around the 1/2" feeder tube. It's a takeoff from my hpa days

This system has been a work in progress, but is now close to final version, which has to do mostly with anchoring the tubing

I am constantly amazed at the growth and now bud development. Pistils are everywhere, including under the leafs

The other half of the equation is my use of a variety of bulbs from the aquarium industry to provide best spectrums at various growth stages.

Doing this has taught me a ton about what mj plants like and when

Alas, these bulbs do not last as long as advertised and are expensive, especially when 8 bulbs are involved.

I bought the Quantum Bad Boy ~ 2 years ago, when leds were far from where they have matured today

Come by my grow thread to see where I started and to follow the ~ next 14 days

How do your buds compare at 30 days?

I tossed in a pic of my clones which are blowing my mind under 2 ufo 90s (3500 + 5000)

Excellent. Tell us more about lighting, soil/hydro, nutes...
Living Organic Soil, my first full run using it after a small test a while ago. I am totally convinced. For nutes, ACT (pure VC based) most of the time, with ONE feed of The Rev's All Purpose Tea. Oldschool mag ballasts, kickin' 1200 watts to cover a 6.5 by 7 ft area, vegged under 400w MH. I also feel the use of Aloe in a foliar spray during veg and first week of flower makes a big difference. Buds come out solid as rocks. Pests are nowhere to be seen.

I can really recommend Living Organic Soil as probably the most hassle-free way to get very cool results. It is also very friendly on your wallet once you have your soils mixed up, and the soil is totally re-usable and actually gets better with the next run. The bud comes out really nice mate.

MadH, do you have a thread or can you direct me to more 411?

Thanks
It will be my pleasure Sir :)

This first one is amazing. It is a lot of reading to do, but if you work all the way through it you will have the soil mixes beyond jacked. Rrog is a kind and immensely knowledge-able fella with the patience of a buddha. More than 1500 posts, and the thread has been civil and respectful for every single post. Excellent Karma if you believe in that stuff:

Everything you will ever need to know about teas can be found on this thread. Gandalf and Rrog are made of the same stuff. Any and all questions will be answered with patience and respect to your personal setup and goals. Ignore the 'Total Noob' part in the thread title... Once you see his plants, you will understand why I say this. Incredible. A true master. He shares his mistakes too so we can all learn from them. Wonderful chap.

You will enjoy both immensely. Like I said, it is a lot of reading, but both will give you to-the-letter mixes and recipes to get into it with a flying start!

Thanks so much

Cool, Rrog and I cross paths in the led section a lot

Not sure I would change from HR V + B dry formula, but I don't know a thing about your method. Be interesting to check it out

HR is soooooo simple and $20/pound gets me through 2+ grows

Do what I did: I made a tiny soil mix, LOS. I put just two plants in, and ran them next to my old rig. I kept them small, clones straight into flower in 20 cm pots. You will see if the method suits you that way. Whatever soil you don't use can grow some badass veggies on your balcony, so no loss. I kept the soil and am now addicted to cooking more every month!

Too complicated for my small grows, BUT, I used to have the nicest large front lawn in my neighborhood, but after the last 2 major hurricanes, lots of weeds. I have to see how much it will cost to buy nutrients vs making them for a 1/4 acre

Also I swapped out 2 UVL Red Lifes for more 500-600 + 730-760. Buds are swelling and leafs getting oily

Here are a few shots of my current grow, 2 Cotton Candy and 2 Ice Bomb. I really managed to control the canopy level a lot better this round, and the overall growth is more even, compared to last round. Full Canna nutes in 100% coco/dtw

I learned something: too much red spectrum significantly increases stretch, prevents bud selling, PLUS, slows tric development

Putting 2 + 2 together: No wonder I never got good results with my RB ufo 90. Buds were similarly light and airy

Just a few days ago I swapped out 2 UVL Red Lifes for Quantum Flower bulbs (2900K) and already I see way more trics and oils on the leafs

Will post new pics tomorrow

Holy Shit Dude, that's a lot of hardware

Here are a couple pics of < softball size root-mass after harvesting PHAT buds in HP Hydro 1.0

4" net pots!

Root mass very soft and fluffy, lots of hairs
