i usually use the paper towel method. Put them in a damp paper towel, keep it moist and warm (at least not cold). They should sprout in a couple days. Don't let the paper towel dry out. There are tons of threads about different germ techniques, but the paper towel method works for me.

i usually just toss em in some seedling mix and a week later they are out. 3 weeks is wayyy tooo long unless theyre sitting in dry dirt. then theyd sit there forever . soak the soil, actually take em out put em in a paper towel and when the little white tail is coming through then plant em tail down. 3 weeks something is up...oh and also if you didnt get good seeds from a trustable source. you will be dissapointed with the outcome...im tellin ya. you absolutly need to buy real, seeds...the first time i grew i wasted 6 months growing shitty weed from some bag seeds...bag seeds hermi, and go male and just plain suck....buy seeds man....get some femenized f1 seeds, you will be so happy you did in the end. i know they are expensive but google single pot seeds sale and there is a place you can order single seeds....you could get white widow femenized for like 10 bucks. just an exmple.....seriously....also do not use yard dirt. all sorts of nsty spider mites and shit come inside with yard dirt. they cxan kill your plants..

jordis is right,, dont use yard dirt,, buy soil or hydro is good,,, Ive been using the papertowel method all thruout and to date out of hundreds of seeds only lost maybe 5-10 so thats a great way to go,,, I just put a papertowel on a plate put seeds on, then a couple more pts on top and keep wet,, I like very wet and check everymorning,, maybe 3 to 5 days then when tails are about 1/4 inch plant down just under dirt...

whatch you talkin' bout willis? i got mine at 3 feet right now threw them bitches in the soil put a little water on them and a couple days later shizzzam!...sprouts...even outdoors i do it like this...seems more natural

when seed drop from a plant in the wild, they dont grow untill the following spring, and even then, it is like one plant out of every 1000 seeds that fall off. i germinate my seeds, buy wrapping them in a paper towel, wet it, ring it out, place the seeds in it, roll it up, and put it in a zip lok sandwhich bag.(to keep the moisture in), in 4 days, ull have 3 inch long seedlings. plants the seedlings, roots down(obviously), with the head of the seed, just barley showing thru the dirt, give them one day of darkness, then 24 hours of light. in 3 weeks, ull have a 12 inch tall plant.

you can plant your seeds directly in soil, but they arent guaranteed to sprout. for best results you should germinate seeds in a moist (not wet) paper towel, in a warm dark place for 2-4-48 hours.
