3 stage grow(cfl veg, cfl preflower, hps flower)

Hello all. I made a post about this before but I don't think I got my question across like I wanted to.

I have a cfl veg cab and a separate 250 HPS cab. I noticed alot of stretching during the first two weeks of blooming with HPS and was wondering if there would be a way to cut that stretching down. Yes I am aware that sativas generally tend to keep stretching during bloom while indicas tend to stay more squat. I am also aware that stretching occurs during the light off phase of vegging and HPS also causes alot of stretch over CFLs.

My idea was to have a 3 stage(CFL cloner/veg, CFL preflower, 250 HPS flower). First is a CFL cloner which is there solely to develop enough roots so that I could throw it into the blooming cab SOG style.

This is where my question is. What do people think about splitting the bloom phase into two, a CFL cab for the first couple of weeks to bring the INITIAL bud sites out while keeping the stretching down. After they stay in the CFL bloom cab for 2-3 weeks I would THEN throw them into the 250 HPS cab where the bud sites would eat up the HPS, thus creating another set of harvests and eliminating the stretching that happens while the bud sites are trying to come out under HPS lighting.

So whaddyall think? Would the harvest be impacted in any way when using CFLs to bring out the initial bud sites? I would figure no but any input/comments/links would be appreciated.

I think you should just stick with the HPS. These are things we need to think about before starting the grow....this is what your doing right?

I have a HPS cab and a small cloner cab yes. For the future I was looking to use CFLs for the initial blooming as a intermediate stage between clone/veg and blooming.
