3 questions about veg state, light and sativa vs indica

hey all just a couple of quick questions. When I'm reading about light and sunlight I keep wondering if they mean that the plant must be in direct sunlight for x amount of hours or does it just mean during sunlight hours? for example the sun came up around 6am today and will set at 8:11pm tonight. My plants are in containers even though they are outdoor so I can move them around. When it gets dark outside I slide them onto my patio out of the way of the early morning sprinklers that come on. They are still outside in the light but not sunny, the area on the patio that I move them too is shady in the morning. When I put them back in place they are in the full sun. Does this matter? does it matter whether or not they are in full sun vs shade as long as they are outside where there is light? Should I find a spot where they won't get hit by the sprinklers but are still in full sunlight when the sun comes up?

I have no idea if I'm growing sativa or indica. can anyone tell me by looking at the pics? Also I'm confused about how to know the difference between veg state and flowering state. Am I flowering?

I don't think it matters moving them to patio as long as it isn't totally darkened. More sun the better for weed tho, so don't wait all morning to get them some direct sun. As far as if they flowering, do you see any white pistils? Are these clones or seeds. Indicas are short stout fat leafed. Sativas are tall, stretchy skinny leaves.... hope this helps. Happy growing.

thanks for the quick replies. I usually have them in the sun 8 or so in the morning but I do want them in full sun so maybe I will rethink their location.

I don't know if I'm seeing pistils or not. I've googled images of it but I just can't tell if what I'm seeing is the calyx or hairs. I started with seeds I've collected so the strain could be anything. I think I am growing sativas by your description Garden Boss.

If you see white hairs/pistils then it's probably a lady. I believe your plant is a sativa/indica hybrid. Plenty of threads on this site to cross compare male vs female. Happy growing

ok so I went back and spent more time looking at my plants and I ended up having to chop one down. it was male. Today has been the first day that I can see any hairs on any of the plants. I have two that aren't showing any signs of sexing yet but I'm sure that will be happening soon since the others are just now showing it.

sounds like youre on the rignt track bro. i think its definitely a hybrid as far as the % its impossible for us to know.
