hey all, I have 3 plants here 2 are ready to bud (the 3rd one may be but I think she may need a little more time as she was started a month later from a random seed that happened to be female.)

due to budget I can only afford to bud with cfl's, right now I have 4 x26w soft white (red spectrum) cfls, I'm planning on getting 4 more of these but I was wondering how well this wattage with these plants would work.

I'm including pics to give you guys an idea of the size of these plants, they're 1.5 to 2ft tall. is 8 26w(208w) cfl's enough to get decent buds out of 3 small plants?

yes it definitely is enough, it just depends how many you use. for 3 plants I would say minimun 6 x 26w cfl's is what you'd need. If i was doing it I'd probably use 8

yeah 8 seemed like the ideal amount to me. this isn't necessarily a grow to survive on, just to get a little extra bud for the summer, till the huge outdoor harvest.

now I'm wondering how I would distribute 8 lights across 3 plants most efficiently . . . .

get some socket adapters and y-adapters and set em up in 2's over top of the plants.

what about the other 2 lights?

maybe I should get 10 lights to balance it out . . . 2 on y adapters over each plant (6 bulbs) then 4 in socket adapters in between them on the lower level, perfectly covering both sides of the plants in light . . .

this bumps it up to 260w 17000 lumens . . . for 3 plants.

sound good?

If there 1.5 to 2 ft each there gonna get to 3-4.5 feet in full bloom. realistically yout gonna want a cfl light within 6-10 inches of every part of the plant , You might consider topping them all so your lights can be used more efficently. Just an idea tho
