so long story short ....i bit off a bit more than i can chew. I started some strains back in september and began flowering on Oct 20.
I'm flowering in a small space so i only have room to flower about 3 plants in four gallon pots ...
my problem
I have three more plants in four gallon pots that are going on 3 months of veg now, they're all at least 2 feet tall sitting under a 6 bulb t5 fixture.
What i'm asking is ..... these bitches are so big. What method would you recommend for flowering???? they wouldn't be able to go under the hps for flowering at the moment so i'd have to do it under fluros ... any advice on keeping them low .... lst will just increase my width and leave me with less room under the T5 .....any suggestions will get a rep.

Do a vertical grow. Position the T5's vertical and put the plants around it. Move the plants 120 degrees daily. Set the T5's to 12/12. Thats what I would do judging from your story. But if you show some pics and give some measurements im sure there could be a better method for you.

Another method could be to take cuttings of all of them and do a MASSIVE sea of green and put the cuttings straight into flower after rooting them.

I've considered both of these methods .....I'm leaning towards flowering under the T5 ...I will be taking cuttings but I have to flower these big ones now. Vertical is a really interesting idea.

You can look into suppercropping--> https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/288113-step-step-how-super-crop.html

It's safe to do when the plants are in flower and very easy to do. Hope that helps!:bigjoint:
thanks brother .... I've super cropped them all properly so far in veg .... they are just a mass of foliage. I'm actually amazed that everything is managing to stay healthy due to the height and density of the plants themselves ... They're all LST'd and supercropped. I will try and post pics shortly. rep to both of ya!

this is a bad pic .... but it's hard to get into the closet for a good picture .... i have about 2x4 of floor space. More once i take some shelves out. and about 10 ft of height.

Thx for the rep! What I meant by taking cuttings was litterally stripping the mother plants (the 3 big plants) to the point where there is only the stalk left. That way you wont need to flower them but still get alot of bud out of them. But then again, thats only one of the options :) If you are going to flower under the T5's then be sure to invest in some philips 825 lights, they flower alot better then under 865's which im assuming you have the 3 big ones under now.

are you taking about color spectrum Windex?? i have veg bulbs in there .... I have some phillips flowerieng bulbs also. In my experience ...i've enjoyed using the mixed spectrum in my t5's half veg half flower. I didn't add that ...I have literally almost 400 watts of cfl for sidelighting if needed.
back to vertical ....so if i took cuttings off the bottoms ... i mean stripped them down pretty good .... set up the T5 vertically and bend the tops towards the light??
I've considered stripping them down ....but i honestly think i wouldn't have the right environment or space for all i could pull off these monsters... Temps in my house are very low ...It's something i'm going to have to figure out SOON to keep a perpetual harvest.

ah ... i ended up vegging and started flowering two of them... needless to say they're monsters ... I'm considering getting another 600 or 1000 so i can switch my rooms up. The plants are almost too big to grow under just the single 600. I still have my Cole Train in veg ... I'm waiting for another light before i start that.
no way i could fit it in with the other two. They've vegged for four months.
I do have some more questions though about rootbound plants .... I have them in 4 gallon containers and vegged to 3 ft. The root system seems to be tight but repotting at this point would make me lose even more room. How do you know that the plant is rootbound anyway???
I'm still battling with these bitches but i can see a good yield come out of all this if everything goes ok.
Thanks for asking
