ok.Got a message from a botanist in the UK and he says its the rarest of the hermorphrodatic plants, and the resulying offspring should be dominately male, with a phenotype "unique unto itself".Still awaiting more responses.

Oh man. That sounds like something I should keep alive/ extract pollen. Anybody know of any links helping with pollen extraction?

Just keep it away from ur other ladies. At first sight of a pollen sac breakin, cut em off, pop the sacs in a bag. U can keep pollen for up to 2 months. Id store it in the freezer in a Carmex jar. They actually look about full, u could take some now prolly..

think about it though wouldn't a male plant with a female trait make the resulting seeds have a higher chance of being female? considering a pure male has no female genes to pass?

scribin' to watch your gender confused plant. lol

I use molasses only during flowering, from july on til harvest.

thanks for the rep Fditty, got me motivated to do a little more reading
found a reference from DocLeaf, breeder for Frillitary seeds
he claims in 15+ years of breeding, he has seen 2 male plants that displayed female traits
so this is seen by very few
and how they are used seems to be part of the 'secret sauce', just part of a complicated chain

once i get started, i need to finish the thought
so it seems there are 2 kinds of hermie males
the more common hermie will have sterile flowers, no seeds will be produced
the much less common hermie is one that has a small number of flowers
but these flowers will produce a small number of seeds
the sterile male hermie pollen is supposed to be bad pollen
it carries the hermie trait
however the fertile male hermie pollen does not have the hermie trait
it produces good offspring
understand? if you do, you're doing better than me
this is just what i read over in dj shorts forum, don't claim to understand exactly

FDitty turned me on to this thread, told me you might have something special
from what little i've read on certain breeders, a fertile auto flowering male is quite rare and quite desirable
not sure about all the details, these breeders don't tell you everything
but from i've read, hold onto this plant like grim death, this may be very valuable

Ive been told, the phenos will have characteristics unlike anything the plant has had. That in a good way.

That sounds good enough for me! Now I want to know if the pollen from the whole plant is "special" or just the pollen from the one branch with the pistils.

i believe all the pollen is the same, but i don't know that for a fact
freeze drying is supposed to keep pollen good for quite a while, from months to years depending who you ask
may want to try to reveg the plant if you have space, you might be able to keep it around for a while

I will for sure. I am flowering my beauties in my crawlspace and my male is out near a window so it can receive light everyday. I'm going to keep this male guy alive for a while. I will have some pics of my supercropping technique that I did on the females tomorrow.
