2x600 Watt B.C. Blueberry, Northern lights, and Mango. Comments Welcome

I felt bad doing this, but am running out of smoke, and I figured I'd sacrafice this from a lower branch on the smallest producing Blueberry I've got.

I'm excited to see how it smokes....was also hoping I could tell if the crystals are completely clear from these shots but this is the best I can do with my camera on macro.

Looks clear to me....I hung this nug under my celing fan. I still don't know exactly how to dry properly (for when I do the harvest) so any EXPERIENCED help would be awesome.

Hang dry your buds in a dark place at about room temperature with constant moving fresh air, but not a fan directly blowing air on the buds. Nice grow, BTW.

using the method HowzerMD described is how i dry my buds. What you got there will get you high but you will need to dry it for about 3 days in a cool dark area. Check the stem every day if you can bend it and it snaps then its dry enough to start curing. You can smoke it after its dry but it wont be as potent as if you had cured it. The best method ive found to cure Cannabis is to stick it in to air tight containers. THen every few hours "burp" or open the container to let the moisture out and new air in. The curing process can take up to a month but the wait is worth it.

well, i just smoked part of that nug i cut off.....even though its not dry, it smoked in the bong with lots of heat.

all i have to say is wow. i've been smoking some of the highest grade stuff you can buy...everyday...and after smoking a bit of the bb its like the first time i've ever smoked almost

i don't wanna sound like my shit is better than anyonne else's....at all. but growing yoruself, and smoking the bud before all the crystals are rubbed off from people passing it around/selling it.....must have a huge infulence.

I totally agree. The best weed you will ever smoke is the weed that you cultivated yourself.

thanks for the comments guys! this blueberry smoke is really strong. its an uplifting high almost like a sativa, but at the same time I feel alittle like a zombie got the couchlock syndrome. i'm really super happy with it. the high is lasting a long time, staying strong for a good couple hours.

does anyone have any suggestions as far as anything special i should do in this last week before harvesting the bb? i've been reading about adding molasses. any of you experienced guys do that at all?

also, i'd like to top these purps plants and make 2 colas on each. any of you guys have a method of doing that?

i prefer not to just ask on the forums unless i have to because i've received lots of mis-information since i started this grow.

ya you top above the second true node. you will get either 2 or 4 main colas on it. i did it and had great results. almost all got 4 my Kaya 47 got 3 and my WW got 3. idk why just did. and i used molasses throughout my whole grow. but you can use it as a carb boost and a sweetener at the last week. it may help. it cant hurt atleast. also all of your plants on the sides of your closet are so tall, because you didnt have enough light and they were stretching for some haha. i almost had that problem in my tent lol. but topping them kept them under control

If you top just above the FIRST true node you get TWO TOPS. If you top just above the SECOND true node you get FOUR TOPS.

well the ones i want to top have 7 or 8 nodes at this point. where exactly do you cut them electricpineapple? also is there anything you do besides just snip?

nope, you just snip. i cut above the 2nd node, about a half inch. it gives me 4 tops and i like the results i got from it. so i recommend it.

and Howzer is right, if you top above the first node, but it is better for the plant to top above the 2nd

So, I took the 8 (unsexed) purps plants I had on 24/0, and squeezed them under the 600 with my flowering plants. The plan is to get rid of the males, and then start topping, and cloning for the next round.

I cut the tops off the 2 mother plants at approx node 5 (nl) and node 9 (bb). That was close to half the height off each. They remain under the 5 cfl's @24/0. Just for fun, I cut a couple clones off the parts I cut from the mothers, and stuck them in the soil at the base of the nl mother plant. I doubt it will work but I was going to throw that part away anyways.

Also watered all the plants without nutes. Next watering I'll give nutes to everything except the blueberry plants because I'm sure they are in their final week. Even though they have a good 50% red hairs, the buds are still getting fatter and producing new white hairs.

I'm really not too sure what strain(s) I'm going to do next round. Guess it all depends on how well the purps respond to topping, and my 1st time cloning skills. Only time will tell.

Blueberry Harvest! (just one plant)

So last night I chopped the smallest blueberry plant. It wasn't getting much light anymore anyways due to the limited space in my little grow area and the Northern Lights plants all bent over trying to get the most light to their buds.

This plant (like all the bb plants) has almost zero branching. Just one big cola and that's it. So, I trimmed her today, and removed all the tiny buds from the bottom, and am currently trying a few different types of quick drying techniques. Because when you've run out of smoke, its hard not to!

The main part of the plant is just hanging, in the kitchen in the dark. I'm now off to read more about harvesting, drying, curing, etc.

I've had a few samples from this plant now over the past several days and I can't believe how long the high is lasting. Its very strong. I am happy! I've actually been swallowing the little tiny popcorn buds and getting a pretty sweet body buzz as well.

Maybe its just me, but now that I'm looking at these close up pics, it seems that the crystals have started to cloud up....which means this should be prime time for harvesting right? Its still less than 8 weeks, but hey....looks good to me.

Just for reference, This plant was cut after 52 days of 12/12....or approx. 7 1/2 weeks. (recommended time 8 weeks)

I'll likely harvest the rest of the Blueberry in the next week, and give the Northern Lights more room to finish up. (recommended time 8-10 weeks)

Hoping that I get a few good females from the 8 purps that are temporarily under the 600 with 12/12. As of last night I could only see pistils from 1 of them.

Definately won't be overcrowding this time around. LOL....dealing with plants of different heights in the same area isn't pro...at all.

Can't wait to get some new equipment and really upgrade this grow. This was a trial run, and I've been learning TONS! From now on, I'll just keep trying to improve.

Considering running 3x600 watt hps with AIR COOLED HOODS THIS TIME!!!! under a 4'x8' tent with 32 plants (1 per square foot) with carbon scrubber and inline fan. Plus a seperate vegging/mother space with cfl's, and possibly a T5 flourescent setup. My biggest issue right now is that I can't vent the heat anywhere in this apartment. I'm still looking for the right 2 bedroom top floor apartment to come available, so I can vent out the bedroom window.

For this next upcoming round, I may just get a cheap portable air conditioner. Just to cool the room, and remove some of the humidity. Because this setup has been a huge pain in the ass maintanance wise. I have to open and close my bedroom door to allow heat to escape and the room to be dark when lights are off. If I don't open, or close the door at the times the light comes on and off, then I could ruin everything. Temps at the tops of the plants average low 90's farenheight, and the ambient temperature in the room is about 85. Too hot not only for the plants, but for me!

Any comments? Let me hear em!

BLUEBERRY HARVEST! 56 DAYS = 8 WEEKS EXACT

Blueberry plants looked good, so cut em down (remaining 5 cuz I clipped the 1st early). That gave lots more room to arrange and bend over the Northern Lights which should really fill out in the next couple weeks.

The smoke from the now dry 1st blueberry plant is amazing It gives me a super strong energetic high, although its still a clear high. After 3 hours, its "in front of tv on the couch" time.

No idea on weight yet, but the BB plants aren't going to yield near what the NL plants are going to. Its just one stalk...One cola. Nice, tight, compact, but small.

I'm hoping for at least 8oz overall.

4 of the 8 Purps plants are confirmed female....3 are still undecided as of yet.

As far as the pics being mixed up sequence wise...

The 5 hanging plants are the BB...Obviously the others are the NL. The cut up buds are from the first BB i harvested about 5 days ago.

anyone have suggestions as to what i should do with all the leaf trimmings?

something easy? so far they're just lying on some aluminum foil, and starting to really dry up.
