2 plants for sure ......4 plants i would not try

think of the plant as a foot print .... 2x2 is a good size allows the plant to bush out and grow up .......2x1 u are squishing the plants in once they grow/flower u will not be able to move them
 
That's the same size tent I have. Buuut I'm not running led though. Just have 2 125w cfl and a 100w mh
 
I have 400w mh/hps in it right now, but having a lil trouble with heat. Have it under control atm but its not summer yet and it gets hot here. Thinking about getting aircooled hood for it, but was wondering about the leds so I wouldn't lose so much head space.
 
Sounds like you're thinking of a Mars LED. Another option is get one 144 reflector its 315 watts and both veg and bloom spectrums
 
I checked it out on eBay. Think it would grow two plants decent veg- flower? I have a few cfls I could add during flowering if needed. 3 23w 5500k and one 65w 2700k. I like the 400w I got but having trouble with heat and headspace. The leds look fairly thin. I figure by time I get air cooled hood and using hangers I got, i would lose close to a foot of room.

I cannot speak to flowering but the 96 reflector vegs that size tent fine. However when you in veg mode fewer led's are lit than bloom. On bloom all the led's are lit. So with the 144 you'll have good wattage and then full watts during flower. If you're using the light for both veg and flower I think the 144 is a better option.

The beauty of LED is you'll get a lot more headspace and your heat issues will be reduced. With the hood you'll lose at foot and you'll have to keep the plants further away than led's
 
Thanks for the input, very helpful. Right now I'm leaning toward either the leds or a cooltube. I have two 6 inch 240 cfm fans. I'm thinking about getting cooltube carbon filter and ducting. Setup carbon filter>fan>ducting> cooltube>fan>ducting out of tent with passive intake. I would lose less headspace with a cooltube and be able to get closer to top of plants. I can get all I need for that on eBay for $130. Leds I was thinking 3 mars hydro 300w 140tw I think I could get 3 for about 200. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do yet so any advice would be appreciated.
