2x4 - 200W Led - Autos - how many 5 gallon pots?

Hey guys, how many 5 gallon plants to fill a 2x4?

I planted 2 pots for now, I would like to avoid a crowded tent.

But on the other side, will I be able to fill the tent with just 2 autos? I will scrog. Bend horizontally, and then spread colas with a net.

Thinking on planting a third one (will be like 2.5 weeks behind).

Should I plant it? Or will 3x 5 gallon plants probably be quite crowded?

I'd start with 2. A crowded 2x4 sux ass.

I would say 3x 3gal fabric pots for 3 autos would do good in that shape tent

Keeping in mind I use DWC, here is a crowded 2x4 with 2 plants in the left 5gal, and 4 in the right. I usually run regular seeds so end up with males, rarely do 4 plants all end up female but it does happen.

But those are photoperiod, I don't think I'll have time to fill it like that with autos..

I run everything 12/12 from seed, I've had autos even perform like this so it really depends on the plants and the grow method.

Here's an auto I did in soil, 12/12 from seed, 2 of them would nearly fill a 2x4

mid stick with two. I think 3x 5gal will be too crowded.
Two will give you space to work.

I’ve grown autos that were 3.5ft tall and pulled 5oz. I’ve also had autos under 24” and yeild 1-2oz.

Maybe you could squeeze 3x5 but without scrog. With scrog you should continue with 2x5 in my opinion.

I second two as a max.

Here's two autos in 2.5 gal pots in a 2x4, and this was only week 6 from seed, and heavily defoliated and de-branched.

Will stick with 2x 5 gallon for this run.

3x 3gallon also looks a nice setup, although I don't really need different strains, and less pots, less work (not too less, but still less), so we'll see..

That is the most ludicrous thing I have seen lol. I ended up 10" from the lights after stretch and thought I was pushing it close.

LOL, well I cancelled that entire grow due to the vertical space issue, my tallest tent too...

even at 12/12 from seed with heavy defoliation I couldn't keep up with it.

If you're going to be using 5 gal pots, I would stick with 2 for your first grow. Afterward, you can determine how much actual space you have left.
If your planning on scrogging then 2 plants will fill that 2x4 quite easily

2 well grow autos will fill a 2x4 tent. You can do 3....but will be trimming a lot... like a lot a lot.

I had 3 this go and my 3rd plant was far behind and didn't end up shit because the other 2 grew over top.

So go with 2. Or start with 3 and kill the worst.

@Syntax747 Also suggested 2x 7gallon pots.

I will keep run 2x 5 gallon pots and see how much I feel the tent. If I only fill like 70/80%, next time I'll get 7gallon pots.
