Hi Guys,
sorry for the delay in updating you. I've had a bit of a rocky start witth the new breeds (Lowryder mint & Little red ryder hood) but my LR#2 is doing really well, and 2 of my Lowryder mints are doing well & I finally got a Little red ryder hood to pop the surface. None of the other Lowrdyer mints (5) or the other 4 Little red ryder hoods have shown any signs of life, although I did dig down a bit in a Lowryder mint and saw one that was beginning to grow but that still aint surfaced yet!
I've been keeping them well watered and under the light, hopefully they'll pop eventually. I did email the company who sold me the Little red ryder hood seeds to make them aware and they said that they didn't have any other problems with these seeds, and they kindly sent me replacements for all my Little red ryder hoods. I'm gonna give the ones I planted another week and if nothing, then I'm gonna start on these ones, they say they are form a different batch too, which is all positive! They did make a good point that I should have checked the PH of my water when they wouldn't germ, so have got ph strips for my next batch. I boiled the water and let it cool before when I germed, could that have afftected it?
Below are some pictures. Basically the one on the front is my 3 weeks & 1 day old (from beginning of germing to now, began germing it on the 14th feb, planted on 16th feb) Lowryder #2 female, the one's on the back from left to right are a Lowrdyer mint (began germing 19th feb, planted 21st feb), my only tiny little red ryder hood (began germing 19th feb, planted still ungermed 25th feb) and another lowrdyer mint (began germing 19th feb, planted 22nd feb). There's another pick here of me soaking the other pots in the bath (with the shower hose, I didn't drench them, they are draining in the bath) but they are also usually kept in my grow cupboard. You'll notice an extra unmarked pot here, thats the unknown seed that I just banged straight in the soil.
All of my Little red ryder hoods were planted on the 25th feb, still ungermed. I accidentally destroyed 2 of the seeds trying to crack them. Of the yet to show there faces Lowryder Mints, 2 of them were planted on the 21st feb and the remaining 3 on the 22nd feb.
And yet nothing! Any suggestions? What can I do to make them grow (remember I'm going all organic here) or how long should I give them before I give up on them? This is already putting my grow well behind, the only reliable one seems to be the trusty Lowryder #2. I've been keeping this pretty close to the light, hence the shortnesss, but I did today move a shelf down to make it further away to stretch it a little.
Tell me what you think guys. Anyone else ever had this problem germing seeds?
Any advice, suggestion or comments from fellow autoflower growers? Would be much appreciated!
