2nd Plant Ever - Opinions

Nice grow. You do it like I do it, bulbs all around and adjusted to give the best illumination. Can I maybe offer one bit of advice? I think your fan might be a wee bit big. I use two smaller ones. One runs 24/7 and the other circulates the heat when the lights are on. A friend, who is much more knowledgeable, told me when I think it is time to harvest, it's better to wait a week longer. Seems that last week is the most productive week. Yours is proof that good dope can be had from growing with CFLs.

Thanks man. In regard to the fan, I ran it a few days and found it to be to big. But I leave it there because now it holds a smaller fan on top that blows over the T5 fixture. I have a large fan that blows all the warm exhaust from the lights out the door. Then I have that small little fan just to keep the cycle of air going in the back corner of the closet.

Stage 2 of the harvest is dry and in Jars. 90 grams total dried and chopped from main stems before weighing and placing in jars. I still have the very bottom nugs that have been under close up intense light for the past 4 days. I gave them one more blast of Sugar Daddy and Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom at like half strength at day one and they exploded with growth last night lol. I should get another 1/2 to 1oz from that. So almost 1/4 pound from one plant. The weed is not the best, but since I only had one plant to trim and jar it is barely handled and all of the crystals are intact . The high is pretty intense and this post took a lot longer to type than it really should have.

The smell is not the best. It is strong on the inside if you squeeze a nug and when i grind it up, it kind of smells like turpentine but extremely faint. The outside is a bit grassy. Could that be from the low temperatures dips and overwatering?

"The weed is not the best...", "The high is pretty intense."? Dude, which is it? As far as smell, some of that might be due to the chlorophyll that goes away with proper curing. So you harvested in layers, huh? That should make for a very happy 4/20, so let me be the first to wish you happy happy.

When I say the weed is not the best, I guess I mean in appearance and smell. Sorry for not being clear. As I said, I was fresh of a big bowl of it. But yeah, it worked out good. I got to take a pint jar to the woods with a quarter of stuff I bought. Overall, good time were had.

I also have to say that your comment about the smell going away with curing is encouraging and I noticed that the first bud I cut that has been curing for 2-3 weeks definitely smelled much less like plant. Not the best weed I ever smoked and way for from the worst so it works.

Lastly, I came home and the last bit was done so I cut it down and will trim and hang and get the final weight from the plant in a week or so. Fingers crossed for a quarter pound, I only need like 22 grams lol.

Final weigh-in complete. The last little bit of the plant was 19-20 grams bringing the grand total to 107-109 grams from a single plant using nothing but CFL's and T5 tubes.

Alright, well finally got hold of a camera and will show a small portion of the harvest. Maybe a bit less than half. A lot was smoked on 4/20 while camping. The rest, I just don't really want to disturb right now as they were just burped a bit ago. So here are pics, this was harvested on 4/17 and dried for 4 days before going into jars.
