2ft T5 for veg? Anyone upgrading?

Anyone in the Sac area using a 2ft T5 for veg? I just got a tent and thought I would use my 4ft shop light and some CFLs for seedlings and winter mother veg but my tent will not accomodate it. I am looking for something to just keep them going that will put off very little heat as I am not going to be running more than a booster fan in there and 2 moms at the most.

Anyone have any suggestions or anything that they are getting rid of that I can use instead?

I have a single bulb 2 foot t5 with no reflector that I'm not using, want me to send it your way? I was thinking about using it, by I also have a 3 foot four bulb t5 that I already bought new bulbs for. You can have my single bulb 2 footer if you want. Probably need more supplemental lighting, but it would be good for starting seeds.

Hmm I think it would be more trouble than it's worth for you to send it my way. That single would cover my seedlings but the mother in there will make me move the light higher up and away. I appreciate the offer though Meta! :D Trying to figure out what I want to do this summer. I only have about 2-3 months in the garage before I have to worry about cooling again. :)

It does fit in the tent but takes up too much floorspace. It's a commercial 4bulb Flouro tube fixture. Like the kind they used to use in office buildings.

I too am in the same boat as you.
I'll be switching my flower tent to veg for Spring, and I was wondering if they made 2ft T5's. I was imagining a 3 rack system 6ft high inside my tent with a 2ft. T5 light on each level. Bay Area though

Pick up a couple bathroom "vanity" light fixtures from Home Depot, and extension cord (to splice into he fixtures) and about 6 compact fluorescent bulbs. That'll set you up nice, provided you are confident in safely wiring the fixtures.

I straight wired a 400w ballast to the hood one time.
It was scary turning it on, gritting my teeth. It worked well though.

I need to ditch the HPS's and grab some T5's and start getting ready for Spring in a couple weeks once I'm done flowering.

I ended up going with NoGuts idea. Took 2 shop lights and placed them in the back corners of the tent vertically and dropped a CFL down over the top of them. It's not ideal but it will work for now. :)
