Hello I'm new to the whole growing and CFL lights and I have a curious question. Today I picked up some 26w 6500k CFL for veg but when I got home and look at some CFL grow post, I noticed a lot people mentioning 23w. The question is: What is the difference between my 26w 3500k and other 23w 3500k? :wall: thanks in advance

Dude you got the wrong lights for veg you need 6500k daylight 26 watts and 23 watt 2700k soft white for flowering.

I would definatly go with the 26 watters, or 23, whatever is cheaper, I think that it doesnt matter, just 3 more watts I mean your not gonna get more.

Do yourself a favor, go buy some of the big 43w CFL bulbs. They are way bigger and will work a lot better. Those 23w lights are only good for household lighting.

42 watters are 2700k and still could be used for veg, they are like 8 bucks a piece at walmart.

you can find thos Y connectors at any home depot like store..in the electrics area...if you cant find em then either 1 they are out of em or 2 there hidden haha
at the home depot around my house there was an isle that had a bunch of connectors on a board and then bins to find them in... hope this helps...

That shouldnt be a question. Get the bigger lights, they put out more lumens which means better growth.

hmm so 1 40w around 2600 lumens while 2 23-6w would be 3200 lumens (1600 each) wouldnt the 2 smaller bulbs be better? (sorry if im being a thickheaded noob)

Yes, I would highly reccommend getting the 2 26 watters it's a better bang for your buck and they sell y connectors at lowes, home depot, walmart or eveon ebay or sell.com on sell.com just type in grow lights and make an offer and hee will sell them cheaper, peace.
