250w CFL, Kannabia Gnomo, 2nd Grow

Hi Folks

Thought i'd start a journal on my 2nd grow.

My 1st attempt was half arsed using Royal Queen EasyBud, I made many mistakes, not enough light, over feeding, starting in little pots, over pruning rather than training, poor soil, lack of drainage etc etc. I ended up with about 4g from two plants (oops).

So this time round i'm trying two Gnomo seeds from Kannabia. It's an autoflowering dwarf that's White Domina x Ruderalis x Mataro Blue. Supposed to be a very stable indica.

Acording to the breeders it's between 12 - 15% THC content and a "medium" yield, whatever the hell that means lol.

After ending up with a couple of root-bound plants last time I decided to start these babies in 6.5 litre square pots.

I mixed my own potting mixture using the following ratio:

3 handfulls of BioBizz All-Mix
2 handfulls of BioBizz Light Mix
4 Handfulls of Perlite

I added 1/2" of large gravel in the bottom of each pot and then filled them with my mixture. As i've read that the All-Mix can be quite "hot" and even though i've diluted it fairly well I filled the last 3" of each pot with only Light-Mix and perlite 60/40.

My thinking with the last layer of lighter soil was that hopefully the roots will not get burned in the initial stages but as they grow will hit the slightly hotter soil mixture towards the bottom of the plant.

I added the extra perlite as i'll be using such large pots from the outset so good drainage is very important.

I germinated 2 Gnomo seeds using kitchen paper moistened with a solution of tap water (stood for 24 hours as there's a noticable level of chlorine) and BB Root Juice, at 0.5ml per litre of water.

After 20 hours in the paper the seeds had formed half inch roots and so I planted them in the pots with the seed head just poking out of the soil.

I have them under a 250w 6500k CFL with reflector and a 24/0 light regime. They'll say on this regime until they start to show sex, normally around 20 days I think, and then i'll switch to a 2700k 250w CFL and move to a 20/4 light pattern until their ready to pull.

The girls are now 3 days old and about a 1" tall with a decent pair of proper leaves starting.

Any comments, tips, etc are more than welcome.

Cheers

LuciferUk, how's your grow? I've been looking at Kannabia seeds, but haven't seen any true grows.
Utter shite to be honest mate, it's done and dusted.

They weren't auto flowering at all, and when i did force them to flowering by switching to 12/12 half of them were male.

The final results were less than great really, very very small light weight buds which I dont think was wholy down to the lighting.

Personally wouldnt use Kannabia again.

i tried out some gnomo for my frist grow and yes, not atuoflowering at all. i had to put them in 12/12 and luckly i was just growing one but she was female. my buds are really small and dosnt seem worth it at all.... but then this was my first grow so it could be all my fault.... i dont know.
i would just say its best not to grow them if you have little experience.
im not going to buy these seeds again
