2400W LED 6 x Blue Widow DWC

Headed out on vacation this week so I changed out the water and went with an aggressive veg mix which should keep them fed fine for a while. Ill do a better update after a few days in the sun

The area that the tent is in is usually around 68 degrees so its pulling in that air and sucking it out through the top of the tent at around 400 CFM so its warm but not hot. These two lights definitely put out some heat though. Ill have some pics and an update tonight but when I left I was concerned that the plants were going to cook while I was gone but all but one is coming around.

Late but here they are, all are looking ok and the 5th one I feel might be making a turn for the better. On a side note I got the next round of seeds today, next grow will be Serious 6 with this same set up hopefully with some lessons learned after this one. One thing I never mentioned earlier...these lights are damn heavy. Ive put some zip ties in place for back ups on some of the attachments but every time I bump them I get nervous!

ic0n there's a reason the panels are so heavy. The boards you bought are most likely using signage grade lights which are not very efficient. They're bright but they don't do it efficiently so they need extra cooling. Plus it's running Zeners, which means you're powering diodes that don't give off light, just some heat. And finally, I can only guess it's a 2 die LED, which run very hot and either need to be running at a low amperage or have extra cooling and usually both. Are they single or double die LED diodes? Plus you've got 4 or 5 drivers in there too I bet. And probably not the most efficient, so again, more heat to deal with.

So take care of those panels, (reinforce your tent frame, bungie cords work great too as hangers) and run a good environment, (keep those temps steady), just don't get your hopes up too high. Wattage does not equate to growing power so you may not get monster production out of them. I've done this LED growing technique of throwing watts at plants and it works but the price you pay for the electricity used for the production you get isn't truly worth it. Then again I've been wrong before and will be more than happy to eat some crow when you grow do some monsters. So Best Wishes and Happy Growing ic0n! I hope it all works out for you.

They should be single chip Epistar 5W LEDs (Red,White,Blue) except for the IR and UV. I checked the weight and it actually weighs less than the Blackdog Platinum XL-U so it might not be due to different quality parts, I guess the only way is to open it up after the grow and take a peak.
Changed out the nutes again today; they are still taking root, a few faster than the others but I dont think Ill loose any. Any recommendations on light height with this set up?

I would back it up a little and wait for some stretch, especially if they're single chips and you're not too sure what the height of the panels should be. Don't want a stressed out plant when you flip to flowering, right? This one looks nice and compact and in veg you can definitely get away with some extra distance. And maybe the little ones could use a little less brilliance and more blend, if you know what I mean. What's the beam angles btw? You may benefit from angling your panels to better define your space. And flash photos are always appreciated .

I adjusted the lights up to 30" off the top of the buckets, hopefully that gives a bit more stretch but they do look like they are getting more than enough light. Ill have to look for the angles and see if that was in the paperwork.

Things are comming along well. I feel like the distance in the light has helped out alot and also running 18/6 seems to give them a needed break to stretch. Still planning on running an aggressive veg nute mix for another few weeks so the small plants have time to catch up.

I don't know why I didn't spot this earlier but when I put my lights in what I thought was 18/6 it was on the wrong program and went 12/12, This is likely a side effect of smoking what I grow while making these adjustments . When I looked closer at the plants I started seeing signs of flowering so they have reacted to it pretty fast. I could throw them into 18/6 or just leave it in 12/12 I don't know what is the better option at the moment. Any suggestions????

Decided it wasn't worth the stress to throw them back into veg, Ill leave them in flower but its pretty disappointing that I wont be able to yield what I was looking for this grow. I picked up a new timer so next grow this wont be an issue.

I sex my regs by flipping them to 12/12 after a month of vegging. You should still be able to flip them back to 18/6 without too much stress. They'll stretch a bit and you need to leave them alone for at least 2 weeks IMHO but they won't fully re-veg. If they have lots of hairs though you may just want to leave it be and see what happens. Pix?

Sorry for the delay, just got back from a music festival. I think at this point they are too far along to reveg. In previous grows this strain really takes off during flowering so while they wont be nearly as big this time around I think it will be decent bud. Next time around Ill have to go for a better yield. Here they are after I got early this morning.

Still moving along well, the runts are staying pretty small though. My thoughts are because of the undercurrent system the bigger plants are stealing more of the nutes but with changing out the solution weekly I would think there should be more than enough to go around but who knows. So far though its looking fine

You're probably right about revegging. God only knows how long it would take some of them to get them back to veg. Something tells me they're going to be very dense buds. Are you in powdery mildew/mold country? And are you gonna kill that little pisher or just let her grow?

Not bad for humidity, I run a dehumidifier in the summer and a humidifier in the winter so it keeps it pretty even. I think Im going to let the sticks grow into on bud, might as well

The little girl is looking pretty weak but shes going to stay. Im also making a rule that I dont mix nutes when Im baked. Pretty sure I messed it up last week because the leaves just started showing some signs of deficiency. Ive been flushing it every week though and just did again so I think they will recover.
