24 hours of darkness into flower

I've only ever heard about this technique and for the life of me I can no longer find anything on it, so the question being. Has anyone ever left them in darkness for a full day before transitioning into flower.

Id try it myself but a few factors keep me from risking it.
1 being that I have already flipped into flower and am on week 2 so theres really no reason
2 I have no idea where I got this info as I have said I can no longer find anyone that does it.

The idea is that its supposed to shock them into flowering kinda like how near the end when drying they know they are about to die so they start pumping every last bit that they can into the flower in hopes of preserving potential seeds ( or so I would assume ).

Shock is stress, stress equals less weight.
If anything go from 24hr or 18/6 down to 15/9 and let them adjust for a few days the. Flip.
Not to be confused with LST, low stress techniques, like super croping or FIM.

I could see that as too mimic a slower and more natural transition, was just really hoping this was a thing I could have swore I read it in the marijuana grow bible 10 years ago or so but im at a loss as to where I got this bad info glad I never acted on it lol.

Years ago it used to be a “thing”

I’ve done 24 dark and 36 dark.

Plants still done the same thing, began flowering within 7-14 days of switching the lights.

Years ago people used to say that it triggers the flowering response quicker in the plant yada yada yada.

Personally I didn’t see a benefit. So I didn’t bother again.

In nature the light hours progressively get less as autumn approaches.

If you progressively, each week remove hours from the day cycle it can help to slow down the stretch that the plant will go through.

But could take you 4 weeks to fully transition to flowering mode with the plant.

Whereas within 14 days of switching to 12/12 flowering has begun for most growers.
