24/hour light in veg is it good or should I 18/6?

i run CFLs, so during veg i run 24/7, i find that veg growth is ALOT faster and more lush with this schedule. once in flower i run 11/13. fast growing, short, dense plants with really dense buds. IMO

and than after proving that u are not only wrong but ingnorant from not accepting u are.

how can u say ur plant is sleeping if it isnt dormant? if a plant does just as much work if not more at the dark period how can u call this sleep? all ur doing is saying well i sleep at night and im growing wen im sleeping so i must be like a plant....im sorry u choose to not learn and attempt to become a better grower, or to have a better understanding. u have no proof other than some personal oppinions on google, if ur not gonna read and or reply to the facts i have stated, what was ur initial intent? in other words if ur proven wrong in everytthing that u stand for and are too ignorant to even read y ur wrong than u have no purpose u have not only wasted ur time but the time of the person who started this thread to get factual information, so not only is it a relief to me but im sure it is to the many other ppl in this thread who dont care about bullshit or forum hype that u seem to be deeply passionate about!

and how have i not provided u with enough proof that the night period is just as important as the day and that at night they do just as much work if not more?

What im wondering is why are the levels of my leaves so close together. Its about 2 inches and its going on its 4 level. and on the first set of leaves. In the crotch of them there is leaves starting to grow there. This must be a good thing right?

dude I dont know everyones lingo here new to the whole talking on the forum. What I do know is that link you posted says nothing about SLEEP very interesting! But nothing to do about sleep..... I know how to grow plants I NEVER grew marijuana.... So im taking what I know about other green plants and using what I do know about them. Your right plants are active at night they grow they do alot. But there sleeping!

great post but i fu read it all its proving is that plants have a circadian clock....that doesnt mean they sleep here is that guys thesis statement...

there is not one sentence in that whole article that proves that plants sleep!...................

if anything it proves that with or without light the plant is still hard at work. and processes are still completed

if u read through the post i prove to u that at no point is a plant dorment! i proved that no matter what time of day no matter if there is light or darkness a plant is still hard at work therefore proving that at no time is a plant dormant/sleeeeppppiinnnggg. and just so u kno i have grown many things! i own a commercial greenhouse at which we have seasonal flowers, and many citrus trees which touches on much harder concepts than growing a weed! and to add another thing i grow weed also!

and regardless of the 'lingo' the questiosn u asked about in that forum u started are basic botany.

than these questios and the many other ones u have asked in ur posts would have been answered due to experience u would have gained from growing plants prior to ur mj plants


and also the second link u provided compeletey ingores every singel process in a plants life other than photosythisis....so that doesnt really help
 
u should really read ur posts...the only thing that last link proved was that there is a process called photosynthisis......also if u are goin by wether the stomates are open or not (to determine if a plant is awake or sleeping) than that means that all desert plants sleep during the day and are awake at night........

'There is yet another strategy to cope with very hot, dry, desert weather and conserve water. Some plants (for example, cacti and pineapple) that live in extremely hot, dry areas like deserts, can only safely open their stomates at night when the weather is cool'
 
lofl all those ppl on that thread are saying what im saying......other than u....and one other person....and once again u seek personal oppinon to prove facts wrong
 
I think a distinction between 'sleeping' and 'behaves differently in the dark' needs to be made

that is y i clearly posted the definitin for sleeping, and on numerous occasions tried to distinguish the difference between a human and a plant....and how they are not the same

yes, exactly. I'm sure nobody is saying plants are completely dormant in the dark period because that is just ridiculous. Whether plants NEED a dark period or not, however, is a different matter.
 
thought id toss in a few things ive read recently...light or dark period has nothing to do with a plant "sleeping" during its lights off time its doing just as much work as it was before the lights go out.a plant will "sleep" in nature after it rains..like rasta said...rain water has a low ph around 5.5 i think...after it rains the ph in the soil drops really low...so the plant cant uptake nutes..leaves will droop and thats when it "sleeps" its not taking up nutes until the soils ph gets closer to neutral and it leeches that water and then start to try to suck up as much nutes as fast as it can...then pops back up to life...so again...light and dark have nothing to do with the plant sleeping
