Hello Everyone. We are currently on night 15 of 12/12
I'd like everyone to know this is all for personal use and I have no intent to sell or distribute anything with this grow. Fuck you police.
Plant Info
Planted - 12/11/10
Flower - 1/14/11
Genetics: My buddy had a 9 gram nug and I said I wanted it and he gave it to me for 70$ and it was some potent improperly curred and over dried chrondizzle and I got 7 seeds from this nug.
All 7 of them germinated through a soak in room temp ph'd water until they sank and then the paper towel in plates method overnight and all of them had cracked or grown a root within first 30 hours except one which i just tossed.
I noted from what I had heard were "female" seeds and turns out I said plant #4,6 and I got both those right. I ended up with 3 females, 1 determined male, 2 lengthy most likely males. one had 11 pronged leaves and looked insanely cool.
Anyways I went into this just wanting 2 females at most. Didn't think 7/7 would germinate yet 6/6 grow all well to the same height/size. Ended up with most likely 4 females. I transplanted 2 of them into 1 gallon pots and kept the other in a 16 oz. Kinda a trial plant minimal LST. Minimal nutes. (Pics Later)
Soil, Light...etc.
Lighting:
Veg - 211 Watt total
(2) 55 Watt CFL 2700k
(3) 26 Watt CFL 6500k
(1) 23 Watt CFL 3000k
Flower - 220 Watt total
(2) 55 Watt CFL 2700k
(2) 42 Watt CFL 2700k
(1) 26 Watt CFL 6500k
Soil
The original 16 oz. party cup has Epsoma's organic soil or something like that. I ran out for the 2 transplanted ones so I filled the rest of the 1 gallon with MiracleGro organic soil.
Nutrients/PH
The current water I use is terrible and I'm most likely going to have salt build up or something. I need to buy a Brita filter or something. But I've Ph'd the water between 5.8-7.0 the entire time so that should not be an issue (Hopefully...).
Veg
Better Grow orchid mix.
30-10-10
I found the ratio appealing and had all the micro nutrients needed. Kept them decently green throughout veg. Kept ratio low. 1/4rd tsp/gallon if that.
I'll most likely switch to FloraNova's veg nute, forgot the name.
Flower
FloraNova Bloom
4-8-7
I'm having really good success with this product. Hadn't had a single deficiency yet. Have lost maybe the first 2 or 3 sets of leaves on each plant total.
Grandma's Mollases
If anyone has any advice on amount or when the best time to use this. Please lemme know.
Grow Box
Space - 18"W 18"D 43"H (2.25 sqr foot)
(2) 80cm computer fans at the top for exhaust. Intake is a hole at the opposite corner at the bottom.
Also in the box I have a 8" fan that blows the shit out of the plants so they are sturdy as fuck.
Temps
Daytime - 77-82
Nightime - 64-68
CO2
There are 4 humans and 4 dogs and 2 birds in this house. I think ima gud.
Odor
This may be an issue. Been looking at carbon filters. I can get a 4" inline for like 60$. I can always try air sponges until its a real issue. Right now it isn't a problem at all.
Expected/Projected Yield
2.25 sqr feet = 77g
I got these calculations with the build off of 350g/sqr meter. Also you have to consider I tied each plant down in a single spot and thats it. No HST, just a simple LST.
The other calculation goes into play with .3g/Watt for CFL and .5g/Watt with HPS.
220W x .3 - 66g
Either way they are surprisingly close calculations and my goal is to beat the 66g one with 3 plants so an average of 22g per plant. This is very unlikely seeing as this is my first grow but I'l be happy with 40g total off of 3 plants.
Other Info (skip if you are a normal person)
Currently very high...prob forgot a lot. I try to go into detail just because I know when I was mad researching I liked the small random facts you learned from each grow.
First week 20/4 Light cycle
Second through fourth week 18/6 Light Cycle.
Until 12/12 I then switched it to 14/10 Light Cycle.
12/12 for 15 days today.
This is due to the fact that I read somewhere that the most natural and less of an adjustment the plants had to make, the less they would stretch and be more ready to flower. I think this was very true and has worked.
Nutrient rotation. I only gave the plants water every day or two. waited until the pots were entirely dry (ya know when you just pick it up and its extremely light). Every 3rd time I gave them nutrients so was probably around 4-5 times with the last one being the flowering nutes during veg lighting.
Currently under the flowering cycle each plant has gotten nutrients once due to the fact of the transplant of new soil, I figured it could survive off of that for a week or so while it adjusted. There wasn't any stunt at all from transplant, noticed new growth overnight.
The one in the 16 oz cup didn't get nutes nor and transplant and I noticed today it had mad potassium deficiencies and was the 2nd furthest into flowering so I hit that dog up with some FloraNova bloom.
I give them a folair spray almost daily with a very very diluted nutrient solution PH'd. Also I always keep my water sitting out for a few days. Whenever I water the plant, I just refill the container and let it sit entire time between waterings.
Anyways I decided tonight to make a grow journal and the growbox is currently dark so all I have is some pictures from my phone today, just 3 and they aren't that good of quality or even good pictures in general. There isn't even a picture of the biggest plant in there. I have a very nice camera for future picutres.
Last night the plants were almost dry and I decided to just not water because I really wanted the roots to expand and not waste room so when I woke up they were droopy and pots were light as a feather so I watered them and then took a few pics so they are not as droopy now.
Anyways sit back and enjoy the grow. +Rep for helpful input/conversation.
I will ignore you if you are ridiculous.
