20x10 grow room ideas ??

I have a 20'x10' grow space I was going to divide into two rooms to be on a two month cycle. Any suggestions on how many 1000w I should put in this space and how you would divide it, veg/flower. I was thinking about 6 1000w in the flowering side with 3 or 4 running dual arc hortilux bulbs and do the rest with the 1200w king LEDs. Its been 6 or 7 years since I've grown anything and seems everyone prefers LEDs these days. Just hoping for any helpful advice on what would be the best way to utilize all this space most efficient.

will the yield be the same with all LED ? or would you do more LED and if so how many ?
I just switched from 8 x1000 watt hps to 8 x 650w leds. It’s a perpetual setup but my first table just yielded 33 oz plus. and my next table I expect more like 40. That’s crazy. Almost half the watts. Loving it. Room stays at 82-85 degrees to so less load on ac.

So the grow light chart shows my space should ideally have 13,000 µmol. I was trying to keep just my light budget under 5k, is that at all realistic ? From the charts and links everyone has been so kind to provide the best I have been able to figure is around 8.5K. Would it be worth it to start with old school 1000w light kit because I can find the whole set up for around 350-400 a piece and can get all my lights around 3k. Then just replace them overtime with LED when my light budget is bigger ?

Check out monsterboards, cheaper and very good output!

I run a similar sized flower room 10x17. I feed the room clones out of a 4x8 veg room. But I run a sea of green so high plant count to cut down my veg time and veg room foot print.

So how I would split my space is make a 5x10 veg room and a 10x15 Flower room. Which would be good for 6 X 600w LED or 6X 1000W HPS.

Making the 5K budget for lights will be tight. But definitely doable with some good shopping and or DIY. You can make your own LEDs though time consuming, Also HLG sells refurbished kits as well which would be in your budget for sure. another thing you can do is start with 4 or 5 lights only and add the 5-6th light when budget allows.

Just remember when it comes time to change your HPS bulbs in a few grows that's another $4-600. Add the extra wattage and cooling requirements and HPS upfront cheapness becomes less attractive.

Also whatever those king LEDs are (sound like blurple) just no

Here's my room to give you an idea since they will be super similar in size.

Thanks it looks like you have a setup that is just like something I'm hoping to set up. If you don't mind me asking how much does you usually yield on 6x 600w LEDs, I know with 6 HPS once I get it dialed in and right genetics I should yeild around 11-14 lbs. How long do the LEDs last, I know with the HPS I usually change every 2 cycles. Also I will probably take your advance and start with maybe 4 lights flowering and add the last two next cycle when my budget isn't as tight.

LEDs should last 50,000 hours running. Likely you'll have moved onto new lights by then.

my LEDs are 750W. The room is a piece of cake to cool. I use a 30,000btu mini split. I got a portable AC running dehumidify mode. Probably removing around 80- 100 pints a day (honestly just guessing but fills a rubber made garbage can full every 24hish.

as far as my yield out of the 6 lights this is my first run with them. But without CO2 I've been able to do up to 1.5LB per light depending on strain. Lower with early finishers. Also I am probably the worst person to ask about yield as I pretty much only care about quality and variety. And make RSO and rosin with anything that even looks at me the wrong way.
I'd be happy with 8-10lbs of quality weed out of that room. Low by people's standards here but I'd be over the moon with that.

Go LED.. I have 4x 1000 watt HPS in a 8x8 at the moment and trust me, LED is the way to go. I’m actually also planning my next room which will be 8’ wide by either 20-26’ Long (depending on what I want to do, probably go as big as possible since it’ll give more walk room and also give more space to keep a little cooler) I plan on buying 2x 600 watt LEDs for my 8x8 and veg 6 in there. And put 6x 600-800 watt LEDs in there to flower 6 plants ( one light per plant)

What are peoples thoughts on using the 630w LEC grow lights. It seems like all the growers I know are recommending me to use those.

I have those as well great lights. But the bulbs are very expensive and new LEDs blow them out of the water for efficiency and intensity. They do flower nice bud. But it's not gonna be the same.

So I think everyone has talked me into just spending the extra money and going LED from the start. Looking more into them though I can't get over how large most of the lights are compared to old school HPS light reflectors. Would I only be able to fit four of the big LED lights if I decide to go with a light like the "MIGRO ARAY 12 PRO'? When I use the grow light calculator it says the ideal light for my room is 13000 µmol, and it seems most even 1000w LED are only 2,000-2,200 usable PPF. So am I going to be maxing out around 8,000-9,000 PPF and missing out on a decent amount of light exposure ?
