Tina Turner died today.

The singer behind one of the most recorded songs in history has died.
With her breathy vocals, Astrud Gilberto helped make the breezy and sensual "The Girl From Ipanema" into a global sensation. Her death on Monday night was confirmed by her son, bassist Marcelo Gilberto. She was 83.

Yes. Terry Gross had a good collection of his clips on last week. I didn't know about Bob Hope changing his name. Or about the racists shit he had to put up with because he was friends with black musicians in the Army. It's worth the listen.

Robbie Robertson, who led the Canadian-American group the Band to rock prominence in the 1970s and worked extensively with Bob Dylan and Martin Scorsese, has died. He was 80.

Absolute Legends. Both he and the entire Band. The Last Waltz still stands as the best music documentary ever made in my opinion.

I didn't know this about Robbie.
