I'm up in Maine, Mass. laws may be different. Doesn't seem fair to count seedlings when you end up having to cull at least half of them early. People told me I had to somehow force them to flower early in order to tell sex, which had me worried, but turned out it wasn't hard to sex them early by eye. This would be in MA. Ill have to look into the seedlings law part. What strains do well outdoors? I plan on puttjng wheels on some outdoor tent that I can slide over when it rains.
Fluffy indicas would be cool. Something that finishes early but buds not so dense. Never had much luck with autos.
You'll want an early-finishing strain to be safe. I ended up with a bunch of late-finishing sativas--last one didn't get cut until a few days before Halloween. Didn't know any better when I bought the seeds. You can raise late-finishers here it's just chancy with the October weather.
Other New Englanders will chime in here with more strain-specific advice.
Just curious, how come you want "fluffy"? Don't like dense nugs? That may be partly (largely) a matter of growing conditions than genetics, but someone correct me if I have that wrong.
